Re: Christmas Cards
I think the postal service as we knew it , like the cash in your pocket is on its way out. The computer and e-mail will never replace the personal feelings expressed writing in longhand. But like all things we valued are being taken away or reduced. E-mails although fast and easy and a way of correspondence in years to come will be the main source of correspondence . Even shopping today in the high street is slowly disappearing much to the chagrin of a lot of people. Just hope it lasts a bit longer to see me out , as far as I am concerned am not utterly delighted the way the world has turned out in the past fourty years or so. JS

Re: Christmas Cards
Lewis, those who are in favor of all this call it progress.
But where is the progress when it becomes so impersonal that it has no meaning any more?
It is the effort of buying the card, or writing the letter that shows your real feelings.
Easy send an e-mail, maybe to insult as well, no come back then maybe.
Human contact in any personal form is what we need to survive as humans, take that away with automation and we will be no better than autonomans.
