French government and Scottish owned fishing boat
In my Opinion the French Government and their blockade of the Cornelius Geri Jan is totally out of line, I hope the UK government gets struck into them.

The UK Government has said it will stand fully behind the Scottish trawler to free it, the SNP said it cannot stand behind the UK Govt and EU law must take its course, that truly is a sad state of affairs, thank god we didn't have the likes of Sturgeon in WWII.
A French minister has said that they must be strong with the UK, as the UK only understands force, he has conveniently forgotten their own history of acquiesence, I hope that our Govt has the balls to give them both barrels

#2 She brings back visions of the leader of the British Blackshirts during the last war Ivan, Mosley, remember him ? he was as guilty if not more so than William Joyce , some get away with it under the guise of politics. A traitor to ones country there is no excuse for , she deserves all she gets in the future. JS.

Re: French government and Scottish owned fishing boat
The fishing boat should raise a white flag, the French should then let it go thinking it's one of theirs. they could also offer them a submarine contract.

Whenever the word French is mentioned my mind always swings to Dawn French, French Cologne , French Brandy, French kisses, French Knickers , French Leave, French Letters , and in the vegetable dept. Onions and Garlic, and in the animal life frogs and snails. JS

Re: French government and Scottish owned fishing boat
Saw some of that on TV last night.
The catch looked good so can understand why the frogs want to continue fishing there.
But they have always been a thorn in the side of UK going back to Harold when he got one in the eye.
I fear that as long as they are around they will continue to be a problem.

Happy daze John in Oz.

Re: French government and Scottish owned fishing boat
According to the news the Government has told the frogs, beware two can play that game. this could end up very nasty, and Macron and his side kick are playing dangerously, i think we are not too far away from going to WTO trade, where ALL fishing in British waters will be big trouble. I watch a program from the West country on their fishing, and they have found a big market for their fish and shell fish in another outlet in Japan. The French have always been a problem, my ref on another posting on the French piddling in the street, and smelling of piddle, very useful for blind Brits to dislike them,
