TV Licences.
Hi everyone,
If you are aged 75 or over and on Pension Credit (whatever that is) you get a FREE TV licence.
Everyone else like myself who is 75 or over has got to pay £159.
Regards from,
Fouro.

Re: TV Licences.
Pension credit is a tax-free, means-tested benefit aimed at retired people on low incomes and can be worth £1,000s a year. Plus, if you claim it you can access a whole raft of other benefits including council tax discounts and free TV licences for over-75s. However, almost 1m eligible households don't claim – often because they don't know they can or that they need to. This guide tells you how to check if you qualify and how to claim.

We received a letter from our Local MP with password and Username to go on the Net at certain site to protest against all this ! Grrrrrr!
What are they thinking!??????
It will become more like the USA if that happens !
Sorry off Topic but i am fuming!!!!

Re: TV Licences.
iT IS ALL WRONG
All the Bums and Stiffs in my avenue have two, three, and four cars outside their homes.
they have NEVER worked pay no taxes and get a Free TV licence.
I have to pay Income Tax on my miserable MN Pension, Council Tax , nearly £2.000 a year and TV licence
Now all those BUMS on Benefits can now get FREE new gas boilers and radiators etc . I would have to pay full price if I need one.
Britain is a Nation for Bums and Stiffs.
Give them all the Lash and get them working

Hi Vernon.
First time I have heard of that, and our Member is Balilaro, I will have to find out, as he is the one who got country pensioners the $250 petrol vouchers, mind you the Libs have been moving to get rid of Medicare since Whitlam brought it in.

Re: TV Licences.
Vernon, not heard about that.
I know in our doc surgery there is a notice about about payment at certain times but all seniors are bulk billed if they attend during normal hours Monday to Friday and Saturday before noon.

Re: TV Licences.
Fouro, That's the thanks you get for providing yourself with a pension pot during your working life, Kong might go on a rant over stiffs and bums from time to time but he is not far from the truth, When i went on my pensions i was invited to apply for pension credit its automatically printed and sent to every pensionnaire, After one phone call to the D.W.P. It was made clear that i would not and probably never would qualify for the pension supplement, Those that live there life over the brush so to speak never pay National Insurance Contributions, Income tax, Or provide for there retirement financially get a much lower state pension than those who do, And therefore to lift them out of pension poverty qualify for extra assistance financially and has been said its not means tested so no tax to pay there plus they get further help with council tax, Apply for grants as kong says and at the end of the day are sitting as pretty as any of us that put into a pension pot. Who are the idiots them or us

When you receive Pension Credits it automatically opens the door to all sorts of other benifits.

Re: TV Licences.
A bit of advice, If anyone is coming up to retirement age about to get your state pension and has a nice chunk of change they dont want government agencies like pension credit to find out about, Start packing it in pillow cases now or spend it, Dont think for one minute you can put it in a new bank account without mentioning it, Do a credit check on yourself online and every penny you are worth bank accounts investments Credit cards anything will come up on the screen and generate a credit rating. This is all the pension credit outfit have to do to find your dosh or should i say the truth, No hiding place lads uncle Sam has you on floppy disc from day one Terry.
