I believe we reached a point some time ago where many people are afraid to speak their mind for fear of being called a racist, which today translates as anyone who disagrees with these extremists and may result in many formerly moderate people of all races being isolated into their various ethnic groupings, creating more divisions.

Regarding the status of Cecil Rhodes in Oxford, haven't heard of any cries for his removal from any South African bodies, the country where his colonisation ? Took place.

#84, I fear that all this BAME/BLM etc etc movements wanting a rewrite of history will create racialism rather than erase it. America has rewritten history many times in its film industry and these films have become fact rather than fiction. It seems inevitable that in the not too distant future another film will appear showing that the 'Empire Windrush' will have arrived in 1938 rather than 1948 (or was it 1946?) to save the Empire, after all Tom Cruise arrived as an American pilot who helped win the Battle of Britain, and didn't an Australian actor defeat the English on behalf of Scotland, and of course the Americans rescued the enigma machine from a sinking submarine. History has already been rewritten, but suppose its time for another rewrite

    Guessed this one was coming:

RFU considering banning 'Swing Low, Sweet Chariot' song at England matches.

English rugby bosses are conducting a review into the use of the song which has links to slavery,
it's origins are rooted in US slavery. It is believed to have been written by the American slave
    Wallace Willis around the 1860s.

Wasn't Liberia setup as a state where discontented blacks could return to Africa, not many returned.

Liberia was set up to provide greedy shipowners the opportunity to register their vessels and so avoid strict manning and health and safety laws and grow fat on the profits.

#88 Don't think it will be banned, will probably become compulsory having been written by a slave

Liberia was set up by the American colonisation society, believing that blacks would be better off in Africa.

The Churchill statue was uncovered ahead of Macron visit.

The French premier's visit marks the 80th anniversary of
General Charles de Gaulle's appeal to the French population
to resist the German occupation of France during the Second
    World War.

His rallying call was broadcast on the BBC in June 1940, when
he said: "I call upon all Frenchmen who want to remain free to
listen to my voice and follow me."

Unknown as yet if it will stayed uncovered !

    ADDED:

On 18 June 1940 PM Winston Churchill delivers a speech to the House of Commons stating that he expects there to soon be a battle in Britain.
"The whole fury and might of the enemy must very soon be turned on us. Hitler knows that he will have to break us in this Island or lose the war."

Trump may want the Bust tested for the virus, as after his last quote. " We wouldn't have so many virus cases if they didn't test so many people."
