    Default Passwords.

I'm sure some of you must've come across this. You go on line to a site and they request a password you enter a password as so ********** and you are told to weak or not strong enough,I think my wife had one last week that said you cannot use this. How can they tell from the asterisks that your password is not strong enough, can they read it ??????.

Today I opened a new email account, I always use the same password: "cabbage". It's easy to remember. But it seems the computer had other plans...

    Please enter your new password:
    "cabbage"
Sorry, the password must be more than 8 characters.
    "boiled cabbage"
Sorry, the password must contain 1 numerical character.
    "1 boiled cabbage"
Sorry, the password cannot have blank spaces.
    "50bloodyboiledcabbages"
Sorry, the password must contain at least one upper case character.
    "50BLOODYboiledcabbages"
Sorry, the password cannot use more than one upper case character consecutively.
    "50BloodyBoiledCabbagesShovedUpYourArse,IfYouDon'tG iveMeAccessnow”
Sorry, the password cannot contain punctuation.
    “ReallyPissedOff50BloodyBoiledCabbagesShovedUpYour ArseIfYouDontGiveMeAccessnow”
Sorry, that password is already in use!

    Hi Jim
Most all sites these days ask for Passwords and they try and make sure that you use a good one thus at times saying that it is not a good Password!

As for being able to see what you Type well their databases are so set up and are
encrypted, thus the database sees (not the Human) what you are typing,if its not strong enough it will tell you. and say to enter another one until it is satisfied that the password is strong enough,so no worries.

Thanks for that Vernon,I have always thought that I was the only person that knew my password and i could not understand who is this person telling me that it is not a strong enough password. So what you are saying it is a computer that decides it for me,if i am happy with it I stick with it.Keiths post has it spot on.
