The EU gets dafter, regarding fishing.
I am in Fleetwood, and today on the beach, were five men in different parts of the beach with their fishing rods,
I was asking one if he had caught anything, he said just a small Bass, then two men in suits and a clip board arrived, "What have you got in your bag?"?
They were from the White Fish Authority, He says just a Bass. they said Right you are booked, You cannot catch Bass.against EU Rules. " the man said since when? they said it is a new directive from Brussels. throw it back, So the man threw a dead fish back into the sea. Ok to catch eels, and other fish.
Outside in Morecambe Bay it is full of Belgian, French, and Spanish Trawlers catching millions of our fish
.I ran up the beach and told the other lads, no had one except one, he dropped it on the sand and covered it with the sand, and got away with it.
I despair of the Stupidity of our Politicians who allow this.

Well Brian, what do you expect, they did that with the trawlers, fish were thrown back (dead) because the fishermen were not allowed to catch them.

Most of them were probably fishing for kippers Cappy and having no luck. Should have told them to go to John West’s. Is the herring still a protected species ? Loch Fyne on the west coast of Scotland was in he 80s the only place allowed to catch. The EU has a lot to answer for. Cheers JS

Cappy , have to go off coarse for a moment to give you the information you asked for last week.
There are three fields in your area which are recruiting now. Two of the fields have stipulated they will only hire experienced , fully qualified scarecrows.
I have had a word with a friend in the National Union of Tattie Slicers and he can get you a job as an apprentice scarecrow but you will have to start in the carrot patch. This could be the opportunity you have been looking for , learn the job with the carrots then you can move into the big league of King Edwards.
I know you will be happy with this news.
Regards from your friend , Louis.

Re: The EU gets dafter, regarding fishing.
The same stupidity exists in this part of the world, fishing boats are required to have cameras which film everything that happens on deck and to carry an Observer to confirm that all fishing is filmed, the trawlers also have to supply paper records of all fish types that are caught. The trawlers have thought up some sneaky tricks to prevent these Observers being onboard by removing bunks so that there is nowhere for the Observers to sleep, or by saying that there is insufficient drinking water or food available or that the camera got smashed by a boom breaking free and knocking the camera overboard !!! #7... Similar to Australian Seismic survey vessels who usually carry a whale watcher and if whales in the vicinity surveying must go on hold as the compressed air bangs in the water is supposed to have bad effects on the whales. I have doubts about. this as most large mammals will make themselves scarce if uncomfortable. I think a lot of these animal welfare people work under false allusions. I asked one observer what about at night when he was tucked up in bed and the whales could not be visually sighted. His answer was noncommittal. We never had cameras just some greeny supposedly looking after the whales welfare, and. Costing tens of thousands of dollars in lost production. JWS

Re: The EU gets dafter, regarding fishing.
The 'Greens' and little men in white coats with clipboards have a lot to answer for.
The stupidity of some rules and laws makes one wonder just how warped are the minds of these people to come up with such.
Catching a couple of fish off the beach should be the right of any fisherman, not as if they are going to make a hole in the number available.
But what has the EU to do with what the people of UK do on THEIR beaches?

Happy daze John in Oz.

Hi Peter.
These EU rules are really stupid. On commercial boats
they must have first aid boxes....fair enough....but these
boxes must also contain contraceptives ?????
