What in my previous post suggests that I live on the Wirral? Suggest that your post is more about telling the readership that you know footballers whose names you have mis spelt, according to Chris, in your need to get it out. Who on earth wants to know footballers?

Nothing to do with me wanting to get it out about footballers I know. I was merely pointing out that not all footballers are a waste of space. I have seen there generosity at first hand and the ones I have met came across as decent lads and willing give to charities. I suppose some will think that the genuine concern shown to young Bradley Lowery was just all hype to make footballers look good. Yes Jermain Defoe was diffinately crying crocodile tears recently when he heard that young Bradley had lost his fight against cancer.
Have you ever actually met any sports personalities , I am sure Wayne Rooney will be really worried about what you think of him or his family.

Many footballers do good things for charity such as Jamie Carragher-The Jamie Carragher Foundation.Football clubs also set aside money for the community,my grandson was born with Cerebral Palsy imagine the worry what will he earn his living at when he is older, and do you know what he earns his living in football, yes a handicapped lad earning his living in the sport. He is on the books of Liverpool FC Foundation,he has his coaching badge has his own team of handicapped lads who he coaches weekly, plus he go's to schools in the holidays coaching the local kids.So he if off to Oxford tomorrow with his team, travelling on the Liverpool FC coach how the lads will like that, staying in a hotel overnight and some big thing on Tuesday put on by BT.He went to Barcelona in June, many foreign teams there.played Austria,Ireland and Jordan, beat them and played Chile in the final beat Chile so they are the cup holders now.So you see there is a lot more to football than Wayne Rooney.

Foundation | Rafa Benitez Official Website, not a footballer but Rafa is still very much involved in Merseyside Charities. No doubt some will think he can afford it. Dare I even mention Tony Blair's Foundation Standing by for incoming as I know he is popular with forum members, love him or loath him he still gives a lot of time to charities.

Sorry Lewis but the bookmakers are already putting the odds on Everton to finish higher than Liverpool this coming season. This is based on Evertons transfer dealings so far. Mind you you Koeman will be under some pressure as he is planning more signings (Giroud from Arsenal and The Icelandic guy from Swansea) which will take their spending to well over £150 mill. We shall see.

And Rooney has signed a two-year deal with the Toffees, and will be looking to win his place back in the England team having secured his move.

    Hi Jim D.
We have a spoilt brat of a tennis player from Aus who said he was bored playing Wimbledon so lost his match boo-woo he now says that Australians are jealous because of his money, he has $7million, what a prat. I think your post has been taken a {little} out of context, I think that good sports people should get paid according to their talent, as should good politicians and business men, but please not these obscene amounts while thousands of young kids have no hope of a future, there has to be a tipping point.
    Cheers Des

I agree with politicians being paid by results acheived , here in the UK there would be a lot of then needing to attend food banks to feed themselves. Beest poliical job in the UK has to be asan MLA (N Ireland assembly) They cannot even agree on how to form the assembly but still are getting paid and have just decided to have the summer recess , oh and still get paid, I think they did agree on that though. On average they earn £50,000 a year +expenses.

One of the problems with modern sports persons is the money they are paid as entertainers, for that is what they are.
Heard of one from somewhere in EU being transferred for about $40 million!!!!!
