Re: Reality at last
Well , if those living in the EU are not aware that Greece is on the brink of bankruptcy , having been bailed out by the EU banks and are in crisis, then can only assume that the wool they have pulled over their eyes is 10 ft thick. Lewis, do you really believe that those Countries mentioned are not in financial trouble with the Euro. Sensible answers only please, not bile, kt

Re: Reality at last
Of course they are in financial trouble , but look through the posts some seem to think the UK is a wealthy country , we have the second highest national debt in the world. Since the war the Labour party have been in Government for about 28 years The Conservative party have been in power about 43 years, so some one has been asleep at the wheel. If the financial services sector decide to re locate to the EU the UK will be completely ######.
Don't say oh that won't happen , it already is. I would imagine there is a very good chance that Frankfurt & Dublin will carve the pie up between them.

Re: Reality at last
Keith I don't know if I just haven't followed public knowledge and public affairs in general as don't interest me too much. However years ago when a shipowner started expanding, which doubtful we will ever see again, it was said that the accountants had taken over and a lot of personal contact ceased to exist. On some of the foreign vessels I worked on the ships running costs were run from the ship on a monthly portage account. It was amazing how many ways there were of cooking the books as they say. A trained and well versed chartered accountant can produce what figures he likes, and all government departments are down by the head with them. We have just recently had out here the deputy commissioner of taxes whose son has creamed off so many millions of taxpayers money for personal gain. A postmaster general who was on millions every year before they copped on to him. That's why I say I don't care what party is in power they are mostly all a bunch of rogues. Their expense accounts for starters I would doubt if any were honest about it. And if a member of the public would spend most of their time in court. They are the original Old Boys Club. There are few honest people in the world of politics and if you know of one hang on to him, it is just bad business to have so many of them surplus to requirements. Cheers JWS. Ps what you call loans Keith will turn out to be gifts and non repayable. Js

Re: Reality at last
Lewis, absolutely, we are in deep debt, warnings given by the bank of England only yesterday, so it makes no sense to be paying those sorts of figures to the EU, so they can use that money to loan to Greece and others, Its the EU running on thin air by a bunch of freeloaders in Brussels. That is why they are afraid when we leave the contagion will spread. Sure the poor countries will want to remain, they are the ones with their hands out. The same Euro in Romania cannot be of the same value as the one in France, it makes no sense, kt

Re: Reality at last
£53 billion to leave as a Divorce settlement.
What is a billion? Ask your friends. I have heard; 2 million (NO) 100 million (NO) A billion is a THOUSAND million. So, £53 thousand million to leave.
We should see some audited accounts first. What was that? The EU have no audited accounts? You mean never? Yes, I mean never.
That settles that, then
Regards
Brenda
