What would you do ?????
I boarded the train at my local station Waterloo yesterday for a trip into Liverpool.I expected the train to be packed as there was some music festival on around the Pier Head, anyway there were lots of seats available so I sat down quite pleased having got a seat.My happiness turned to panic two stops up the line,it was a pleasant warm day so why should this Middle Eastern looking gentleman board the train wearing a very warm anorak with the hood up and carrying a rucksack. He sat right opposite me and stared right through me,my mind was working overtime especialy when he looked at his watch,he is checking his timer I thought.I don't mind admitting it I didn't feel comfortable with the situation I found myself in,I suppose it's the survival mode I did no more but got up and moved to 3 carriages away. When I got off the train I said to the porters, where is all this security that we were told about not even a BTP man tobe seen, surely there should be some sort of security to stop people fitting this description, was this person out to intimidate us or was he doing a dummy run, most probably innocent but somebody should be there to tell him not to go about dressed like that carrying a rucksack as maybe he could get shot.Would you have moved or would you have stuck it out to the end.
Regards.

Re: What would you do ?????
Jim if I had, had a 12 gauge in my rucksack I would probably have blown him away, and told the attending police later I was sorry if it was mistaken identity, but was his fault for looking like he did. And I was an old man and hadn't been too well lately. Cheers JWS.

Jim, difficult situation, I don't know what I would have done faced with it as you were.
Maybe he was dressed like that in order to engineer a situation, we will probably see more acts like this.

It seems parallel with going into a bank with a motor cycle helmet on, but not sure how you would apply any rule to stop them wearing clothes and backpacks like that, can you imagine the out cry should you try, however i can see how you felt, and i would do the same and try and remove myself away. See how they have got us all twitchy though, kt

Just carry a baseball bat down my trouser leg now Cappy. The wife reckons I just carry it for show pretending it's something else. Cheers JS.

Would have got off at the next stop Jim and ran like hell to the nearest pub to get a couple of pints down to calm the nerves.
