Once asked a first responder if they would check before they started CPR, He sad no.
But if that info was available to them right away,i.e. by scanning your medical card, they would honour your wishes.

I put a do not resuscitate card in my wife's purse, she went fecking mental at me, did I do something wrong!!! confused

I carry a spare parts card. Although don't think my bits and pieces would do much for anyone. Coming from the UK cant even be a blood donor as resided in the UK during the Mad Cow era, not talking about the first Scottish minister either, she was barely born then. Plus of course all the pills one takes. JWS

The idea Den is that should you be admitted as an emergency the doc can read the info and find out what medication etc. may well save a life or two.

In this age of high tec, they should have the availability to scan your card, and have all of your history/requests instantly at hand.
Woultn't that save a lot of time when you arrive at hospital.

It carries all your medical history for the past five years and is automatically updated every January 1st. For security purposes it may only be scanned by hospitals, paramedics and most doctors.
