#10, Some things I like about the free Win 10 but as it progresses more and more stuff that is of no interest to me is being pumped into my system. I like it for my large collection of photographs taken over a lifetime but even that is corrupted by invasive self duplication.
My desktop PC is now 8 years old with a fairly new drive so I would like to get a new basic build for about $450. Put my Win 7 disc in it and just use the old PC Win for photos only. I wonder if they cancelled my Win 7 Product Key when the 'gave' me win 10?

Richard, as far as I know you can get windows 7 back as 10 only covers it up so I am told.

That's good John, if that's the case my Win 7 disc with programme key will activate any new computer.
    Thanks, Richard

Richard, Why not buy a Portable hard drive keep all your photos and other personal stuff. Ive got all my Photos on one just plug it in to c/p and Download all you stuff on to it there you have all in front of you. I bought one last year $118. Fits into the palm of your hand. Very handy.

Charlie, yes I do have the portable drive but I'm a little on the disorganised side with so many photos and yet many more to scan. Win10 has an excellent 'File Explorer' on the start menu that retrieves any photo in a jiffy on the whole system.
I'd better turn in. Gotta be up with brushed teeth and my thin hair combed and a clean shirt sitting in front of Skype at 6am. Our son is getting married tomorrow to a lovely Dixie lady in Simpsonville, South Carolina. Been workmates at the same hospital in Greenville, SC for 14 years. They're coming here for a holiday in September. Our son is the IT and Communications Administrator so we are getting the whole this beamed through to us on Skype. Not like at sea,
mail on the pilot boat, if your lucky!!
    Cheers, Richard

Sorry Dave, had to read that twice, thought you said for her 18th birthday.
