Re: Russian plane disaster
The media were quick to get on the bandwagon and were almost stating as fact it was terrorist linked. They can cause a lot of problems at times or should say at most times. JS

The TUPOLEV-154 came into service in 1972 and was modernised in 1986 with new engines and equipment - however they must be very near their end, they are used extensively by the Russian Military but no longer in Russian Civil use. There has been 39 Tupolev- 154 crashes that involved fatalities but very few have been attributed to technical issues, nearly always pilot error, forces of nature and five resulted from terrorist or military terrorist action.

Re: Russian plane disaster
Hi John.
If I may use a phrase from an old TV program, "It's being so cheerful that keeps me going" Keep up the good spirits mate. As for the lap-top I got one from my son a few months ago once you get used to it; it's great.
Best wishes for the new Year.
Cheers des

Re: Russian plane disaster
Just before going to bed last night it came up on the bottom of the TV screen words to the effect that Trump had called the UN a bunch of party goers or words to that effect. Looking at the paper today can see no reference to this. Is this the usual bad reporting on political events, or is just malice by others trying to depose Trump before he ever takes office. There is a small piece in todays paper of a so called interview with Obama where he says if he had had the chance of a third term in office he would have beaten Trump. Sour grapes or just pure big headedness. Some press releases make it so obvious of their own likes and dislikes, one is left wondering as to the sources of their information. I think the truth is an alien thing to most of them. If Trump said something discourteous about the UN there are probably millions in agreeance with him. I find it hard apart from putting embargoes on other nations anything of real use they have ever done. Apart that is from stirring the pot to a further frenzy of disjointed countries. JS

Re: Russian plane disaster
Giving credit where credit is due is alien to much of the media. More readership potential in alarm and muck raking.

HI DES.
Very sad loss of life,I know that they will be sadly
missed by families and fan alike.
They were a great choir and I read somewhere that
Russian,Welsh and Zulu choirs were the best choirs
in the world.
