El Nino has always been around,
I read a story of a Cape Horn Sailing ship, in the Captains Log was a reference to El Nino, this was in 1860, as he was sailing up the coast of Peru the sea got warm and was littered from horizon to horizon with Dead sea birds, pelicans and so on and also littered with millions of dead fish.
It was called El Nino then , and that was in the days long before any Human Pollution, it is just a natural phenomenon. Cannot change it.
The Captain said it happened every ten to fifteen years and the El Nino Current moves from the Eastern Pacific to the Western Pacific,
But again our political Experts do not know that, or indeed of anything else.

    HI Rod.
Don't worry mate all is good, we have an extreme right wing idiot ex fish and chip shop keeper woman from Queensland Pauline Hanson who has been on the perimeter of politics here for some time, it was unfortunate she was elected to our Senate at the last election. She went diving in the Barrier Reef last week and came out and declared it clear of bleaching and in pristine condition.
That night on TV the ABC released a survey just completed by the scientific world that showed the Reef in a worst state than anyone had anticipated, now I don't know; as I'm not trained in science what is to blame, but the fact that dredging the reef deeper and further out to accommodate bigger and bigger coal ships wouldn't do the area too much good, there is also the huge increase in the land clearing and planting going on in Queensland and the subsequent use of chemicals that find its way out to sea in the tropical storms there wouldn't help either.
    Cheers Des

We have been told that Methane and carbon dioxide are the biggest contributers to global warming and the green house effect.

One small point they forget to inform the public, all mammals breath oxygen and exhale carbon dioxide. As the number of creatures increases so do the emissions. Then we have the decomposing of all matter on the planet, all of which produces Methane.

So stop breathing stop dying and we will all live for ever.

How many years ago is it now that the experts said we were all doomed and there was no answer as the Ozone layer would be completely gone within a couple of years. Absolute and complete silence on the subject today. I took a piece of the barrier reef home to England in 1953 and stood on our mantelpiece for years until it finally crumbled with old age. Completely white of course just like us. JS

Did the same thing with a piece of coral I found while swimming somewhere in the West Indies.
Started off a beautiful pink. Last time I was home in England it was pure white.
No idea what happened to it in the end.

    Hi Den.
It was taken and painted black by the PC people to make things in their eyes, even.

In the 70's we were told the ice age is coming back, turned out to be so true, the mother in law appeared on the door step.
