Take the Dog to the RSPCA, say it is a stray that has been hanging around for several days and looks ill.
They will treat it, then say , ``If it is OK and no one claims it, can I have it, as it looks nice and friendly and its the kind of dog I have always wanted.``

I don't think you would get away with that Brian.Best to tie it to the railings at an animal rescue shelter go in a week later and say your dog has died and you would like to take a dog off their hands.Your dog would be happy to see you wagging it's tail and jumping up on you, this dog has realy taken to me I think I'l have him,and off you go home with a fit dog and it hasn't cost you a penny.

No we wouldn't do anything like that in Liverpool cappy I was just giving a bit of advice to Brian not to try his stunt in Bolton. If he gives his dog to the RSPCA and go's back to collect it he may find that they have put his poor little doggy down how sad would that be.

Thanks to all gods we have an NHS , we could be in the same situation as our pets if it ever got privatised.

Shock , horror and lots of exclamation marks. Once secret papers have revealed Saint Maggie wanted to end the welfare state , privatise the NHS , introduce American style health insurance.
End free education and cancel pension increases.

Jummy was looking for a doggie and went into the pet shop in Crieff.
"You got ony wee doggies gaen cheap"
"Nae Jummy, they aw gae 'woof'".

As for pet insurance, we were well treated (so were our dogs!) by a really fair vet here but after he retired some years ago his successors found the common touch. Got an insurance from the RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) after reading ALL the pros and cons, that suited us and it pays 80% of vet fees.

more dogma louis if you read the whole story instead of the usual labour propaganda you would see that what maggie suggested was ....a corbyn answer to every thing ........make those pay that could afford it and give that wonderful word benefits to those who couldnt .....cappy

Cappy I appreciate the fact you live in a disused Yorkshire coal mine without a TV or radio signal to educate yourself on news above ground. But when you make your yearly trip to the surface to change your underpants you will find the story in today's Daily Mail On Line. A newspaper not renown for printing Labour propaganda.
