Re: Orgreave
Corbyn and his left wing commy pinko followers have been demanding another Inquiry over Orgreave and when Labour gets back into government He is going to have that Inquiry.
Now Why didn't Labour ,who were in Government for 13 Years from 1997 to 2010, have an Inquiry both into Orgreave and Hills borough???????
There is something here that sounds like double Standards.
If they had the Inquiry in 1997, then 19 years ago some men involved on both sides would still be alive, the incident would have been fresher in their minds and it would have been far easier to finalise. Why have Labour delayed it?????

Re: Orgreave
Brian if you disagree with an enquiry what you are saying is that you agree with South Yorkshire Constabulary committing perjury just like they did over Hillsborough surely we can't have a British police force behaving like that no matter what your politics.
I notice nobody has mentioned David Jones a working miner,Jones was hit in the chest by a half brick by youths who opposed the strike when he confronted them for vandalising his car,but the post mortem ruled that this had not caused his death and it was more likely to have been caused by being pressed against the pit gates during the day.
The enquiry is not about the strike but about the actions of the South Yorkshire Constabulary who blamed the Liverpool fans for killing the 96 by their actions which were proved to be false.
We hear of policeman being spat upon,on the other hand I know a policeman who couldn't get enough of it,he was sorry when the strike was over,he earned that much overtime he paid off his mortgage.
I don't normally get involved in the miners strike but when you read the different stories I thought I would put my twopenneth in which I know will not be agreed with.Over to you Cappy.

Scargill wouldnt allow a ballot but the notts NUM would'nt strike without one A vote was had and a large majority to carry on working
The police were heavy handed, but the pickets were really brutal so the police didnt have much choice It was always going to end badly

Re: Orgreave
Terry I have no interest whatsoever in the strike,I was not involved in it in any shape or form.Who was right and who was wrong does not concern me but if you have a bent police force they should be investigated. If they have done nothing wrong what is the problem,oh I see it's a waste of tax payers money.I may be wrong but I think the families and supporters of the 96 paid their own money to get justice.

Re: Orgreave
hello jim well you would know my view on this as i have made it clear earlier ....my main point being the whole strike was a communist plot to bring down the elected government of this country ....the mines were closing .....that cannot be argued against as they had been closing for years ....why ...because the subsidies were too high .....and coal was now out of favour as gas was coming very much to the fore......before coal was king the charcoal burners were the main use for heating etc ...nobody subsidised them.....you may laugh at that statement but ie before deisel trains came in we used coal .....are we still expected to use coal and subsidise coal burning trains .......my sympathy for the miners died many many years ago ......while my family were storming ....i say storming the beaches in normandy...the bloody miners yes i say bloody miners went on strike when coal was the powerhouse of the nation .....well nobody craps on cappy twice ........plus i think nobody in there right mind could trust scargill .....only proven by those who did still cant get rid of the bum ...the millions iof pounds spent on an enquiry would be better given to many other causes ......the followers of scargill were trounced i say trounced ....and yet he still is pulling stunts to feather him self and his family......mai say also i dont give atoss on any one elses view on this ...that is my view bearing in mind i had family who completely disagreed with the strike even after moving to nottingham because the pits in durham and the north east closed as they could not show a profit......even after massive subsidies........nothing more to say on this subject .......that is cappys view ....now waiting for the big green one

Re: Orgreave
Cappy I agree with all you say,I'm not interested what soever in the ins and outs and Scargill, my beef is the South Yorkshire Police should face the music over the way in which they went about it.Even policemen who were involved in the police'ing of it are ready to come forward to give evidence as to how that they were told to sign false statements, that cannot be right.

This is one of the reasons that I would say politics should be barred off this site.
