Re: Bill Clinton campaigning for Trump!
#54, I'm thinking of the 1987 election, if I remember rightly, it was quite close run and Labour were on a high as they
were confident of a win, so much so that they had a pre election party and ended up with egg on their face when Maggie
Thatcher won her 3rd election. Rupert Murdoch's papers campaigned hard for the Tories and on election day the Sun's
front page said "If Kinnock wins today will the last person to leave Britain please turn out the lights" and the following day
the front page screamed "It was the Sun that won it" the Sun & Screws of the World "as it was known" had a big following,
personally I think they did have an influence on the election result. JC

Re: Bill Clinton campaigning for Trump!
#61 According to News Night last night Clinton had 19 or 29 Daily's and 4 monthly's routing for her whilst Trump only had 9 daily's and 1 monthly routing for him,so does the press sway the vote.I had many friends who bought the Daily Mail every day but they voted Labour, they said they bought it for the crossword.I buy the Daily Mirror every day but I don't get involved in any politics from it,once again I buy it for the quizword.

Re: Bill Clinton campaigning for Trump!
#63, I haven't bought the Mirror since around 1980 when Michael Foot became Labours leader as far as I'm concerned it
all went downhill from then. I used to buy the Mail but now I read most of the online papers to get a varied opinion of the
news and I never let the papers influence my way of thinking when it's election time, but I still think a lot of people do, I'm
not a supporter of any party, only the one that I consider is best at the election time. For whatever the reason America voted for Trump I think they got it right just the same as I think we got it right with Brexit. cheers JC

Re: Bill Clinton campaigning for Trump!
Trouble is one sees a post must have missed and about 20 posts since then, and if don't refer to the post number no one knows to what you are referring..I'm going to be busy all of next week so will only get a chance of a quick glance at the computer so will no doubt miss a lot of different posts as will be incommunicado. I don't use the computer for much else apart from emails and such like, cant paste and post pictures and have given up on as cant raise the interest, the less I know the better as would probably be landed with a job at home. I sent the wife about 5 years ago on computer courses as such at the time, but says everything has changed since then and she is not bothered, we don't have mobiles as such only one in the car never used, only for emergencies. Everyone walks around with one clagged to their ear these days. Sat in the Doctors waiting room the other day and everyone there was playing with their mobile, all ages. I can imagine them playing with their thingy, but playing patience, I draw the line at. The art of verbal communication is fastly disappearing. Man will soon lose the use of his mouth in future natural phenonoma and will just stick a needle in themselves for sustanence. Cheers JS
