They should have executed both of them. Half a BILLION Pounds of Cocaine, enough to kill dozens of thickies who use them.

To Turkish seafarers each been jailed for at least 20 years.
Mumin Sahin and Emin Ozmen were*found guilty of smuggling three tonnes*of the class A drug, which were discovered inside the MV Hamal tugboat about 100 miles (160km) off the coast of Aberdeen in 2015. It is believed to be the biggest single cocaine haul ever recovered at sea in Europe.
The drugs were found in a secret hold in the Tanzania-registered tugboat. The vessel was sailing from Istanbul to Guyana via Tenerife and then to the North Sea when it was stopped by the Royal Navy frigate HMS Somerset and the Border Force cutter HMC Valiant after a tip-off from French intelligence.
The ship’s captain Sahin, 47, was sentenced to 22 years, while the second captain Ozmen, 51, was given a 20-year term at the high court in Glasgow on Friday.
The judge Lord Kinclaven told the men that the quantity of drugs was “not only significant but massive” and that drug trafficking had a “devastating impact” on people and communities.

No doubt under our current legal system, which is a waste of time, they will only serve half sentences.

It costs £45,000 a year to keep them in luxury in gaol. cheaper to execute.
should be like Singapore, Indonesia and others.

Nearly every drama one watches on TV either or both shows a lot of sexual deviations plus someone stuffing talcum powder up their nose with a credit card. They do more to advertise the drug trade to youngsters who are still trying to develop a brain than any other. Free advertising. The people who write the scripts for some of these dramas are not very fit people in my opinion to have access with their views to youngsters and the likes. What makes it worse in a lot of cases they make heroes out of these people. JWS

Hi John.
Was reading the Herald on Friday they featured a web game where you had to kill all the people on it to get a good score, no wonder these kids think that taking drugs and killing are in vogue. An Assyrian gang in Sydney all of whom arrived here as refugees have been shooting and killing each other to control the drug trade in Sydney, why the hell are they not sent back, as the paper stated they have brought their ways with them.
Cheers Des

Alas no chance, they'll probably be offered Open University courses in English language/ship construction and the correct procedures for drug smuggling
