Re: Temperature
I went to Marble Bar on one of my many "Walk abouts" from Headland across the desert eventually to Perth.
It was well over 50 in the shade quite warm. Whim Creek was the same, I travelled 150 miles to the pub. asked for a cold beer, "Sorry Mate, the Beer Truck is two weeks late.".
just had a cup of tea.

Re: Temperature
She can't publish it , it mentions about a certain old guy at a hotel in Whitley Bay and that might just be too embarrassing to be published

Brian they are talking about you again. You didn't give Mary your windjammer swimming trunks from Basra did you. As know you usually sign everything, will have to disclaim as a forgery. Cheers JWS

You lot are only Jealous.
I had more adventures in that REX HOTEL than I did in 48 years at sea.

Re: Temperature
Remember being in there years ago with a party from Runcimans all home from various ships, with a few wives present as well. I was sitting in a corner surrounded by all these people and couldn't get out. Felt sick must have been something I ate, knew I was going to do a Hewieee. In the finish put my head under the table, pulled the carpet back from the wall and hello Hueee. pulled the carpet back over which then stood a good 2 inches higher. Re-emerging from under the table life was still the same, and if anyone noticed was accepted as normal. Just had to wait then until the opportunity arose of changing seats with someone. Hope you were careful of where you sat Brian, that is if you were given time to sit. Cheers JWS
Think one of the worse experiences in life is waking up with a bad head with a throbbing pain between the eyes, and a shrill voice saying over and over again " do you remember what you did last night" all you wanted was the ground to open and swallow you up, especially when memory started to come back bit by bit. I have been told this by others so am pleased I never drank too much and remained sober at all times. JWS
