Re: Offshore Accounts.
We have a tyre baron here who started with one shop many years ago. also a trucking magnate who began with one truck. Both worked hard and made millions but also employed thousands. Both have been accused of tax avoidance but the fact is when push came to shove it was proven they were playing within the rules. These rules are drawn up by the tax office and the parliament. If you play by the rules then you are not guilty of anything. If we do not like the rules then we should choose people for gov who will.

Re: Offshore Accounts.
What good is wealth when if you lived three lifetimes you could not spend it ? Money becomes valueless with nothing to equate it to.
What good are magnificent artworks if you cannot hang on your wall and admire them. Many are locked away in bank vaults not as art but as investments.
When is enough enough ? For some never. Making more and more money becomes an obsession sheer greed the overriding factor.
Being rich is far far better than being poor but not when you become rich on the backs of others such as the wealthy slave owners or the modern day equivalent, the billionaire Mike Ashley who employs thousands on zero hour contracts with the constant threat of being sacked for the petty rules his company, Sports Direct, imposes. What chance have his workforce of ever improving their lives, of buying a house or raising a family ? None.
Is he a great man to admired ? Is Blair a great man ?

Re: Offshore Accounts.
I bet Cameron was glad Dennis Skinner was thrown out of parliament yesterday as he didn't have to answer Dennis's question which Cameron looked a bit shocked at when Dennis asked it.For those who didn't see it D.Skinner called Cameron Dodgy Dave, the speaker asked D>S> to apologise rather than apologise he called Cameron Dodgy Dave for a second time so was chased out.D.S.insulted the PM which apparently not allowed so he had to go.A few weeks ago Corbyn was getting the better of Dodgy Dave what did Dave do,he did no more than rip Corbyn to bits over his dress code it was disgusting but Dave wasn't asked to leave the house.Maybe this comes into the catergorya law for the rich and a law for the poor.

Re: Offshore Accounts.
#122... Louis I wouldn't even call the last one mentioned a man, he is a school boy and will probably never get to manhood. Has caused more problems than most PMs of Great Britain, and yet still runs with the so called big boys. Whether anyone listens to him or not remains to be seen, but still gets all the best of everything that's going. These type of people would not last 5 minutes in a work force, unless of course were a union secretary, they are born to waffle and make their way in life by means of their tongue. We see the talkers in all walks of life even at sea, we used to call them sea lawyers and were always at the wrong end of the hose, that is as far from the nozzle as possible. I saw it happen once where the biggest sea lawyer was promoted to bosun, he changed overnight and was the biggest basket to the crew you could imagine. Another one I had on the Temple Hall told him what the company were paying out in the budget for overtime, was about 3000 pounds a month. Lucky I checked the overtime book after the first week, he had himself down for 8 hours a day and the rest of the ABs for 1 hour a day. So took off him and kept myself, and went back to the usual 3 hours a day for everyone. The song the working class can kiss my ass was very true in a lot of peoples minds. JS

went to bolsover once.....it was reminicent of the tolpuddle times never changed in eons.......didnt vote tory in the last election.......i like the tory way of thinking but didnt like the candidate ....all for the farmers who are subsidised......dont believe in subsidy......it just means giving someone else who are not profitable a leg up and the farmers are in the money to start with....if i still lived in shields i would probably still vote labour ...but i got out and instead of wanting someone to do it for me ....i did it myself.......my eyes were opened i couldnt believe what free thinking out of the loop did for me ......but then who cares.....regards cappy

Re: Offshore Accounts.
When did the Labour Party come into being, think it was well after the 1914/1918 war. Is relatively young to what used to be the Whigs and the Tories. Churchill was formerly a Liberal. In those days would have been unheard of for an itinerant working man to have any say in politics the same as women who never had the vote until much later. Other countries are still in this era of 100 years ago and yet everyone is trying to change them to their own branch of thinking. I think the rest of the world should mind their own business and get on with their own advancements in living standards and leave it up to others to go what way they will. There is far too much conflict in the world today by others not keeping out of what doesn't concern them, the excuse always being for humanitys sake. Maybe it is Gods way of keeping the population down which exponents of the population crisis are always keen to point out will be unmanageable in centuries to come. JS

The Labour party was founded in the early 1900,s as a campaigning group by trade unionists and other socialists to fight for the rights of working people.
