Re: isis
Ivan anyone who was in Portsmouth when the fleet sailed from there in the Falklands war had any idea of the value of shipping would have seen even then how the government were scraping the bottom of the barrel. After the conflict was over, it was the general contention we were lucky to have got away with it due to lack of shipping both RN and MN. Today due to the continuous short sightedness of governments This has deteriorated to a state of a 3rd. world country with a fleet of war canoes. JS

Sorry that should be 'position' not 'possession' where on earth did that come from, bloody old age!

Re: isis
I see that the Empress of Europe, very aptly named Merkel has criticised the Balkan countries for closing their borders, cannot believe it, it was her mouth that caused the mad rush, and still no help for Greece, kt

Re: isis
I was writing a little note about this incomprehensible world under 'you couldn't make it up' theme when it disappeared completely, the BBC has declared that its radio programmes and radio news have become too white!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, so look forward to an ISIS programme fairly soon, under the equal opportunities programme 'Good morning infidels, here is the latest bomb news affecting your area today, don't worry about the weather forecast, you won't be around' nothing that the BBC does these days would surprise me, they think that as long as it's anti British it's okay

Re: isis
The news of the EU situation is getting less air time now here in Oz. But today it showed that many are now going back to Greece complaining that the border is now closed. Why that mad woman in Germany ever told them to come to the EU is a mystery. Maybe she wants to build a new army to take over and totally control Europe. Well it is a German concept tried and failed before but who knows how a second run would go?

Happy daze John in Oz.

Merkel has achieved what Kaiser Bill and Hitler failed to do,
and without firing a shot.
Churchill will be spinning in his grave.

John, Last line, delete 'second' insert 'third'
Kind of thing we had to do when negotiating 500 line Charter Parties, miss one alteration and it could cost you hundreds of thousands of Dollars

Re: isis
The big news now John is 2 footballers and one of them knocking off the others wife. Who the heck is interested in that rubbish. Peoples lives are not there to be aired like bed linen. We have homosexuality, now as a story whenever they can muster enough co-operation from some nit head to make a story up for the public. Where does it stop, and say anything you always get this shout the freedom of the press, what a lot of codswallop. Half of them couldn't even spell journalism. JS

Re: isis
An immigrant family has moved into a house opposite to me whilst I have been away, all speak in the language of the Khyber,
I do not know how many are in there But they have FOUR NEW CARS parked outside, taking up half the avenue.
They do not work. I guess this is truly Paradise.
A Pakistani bought the house cheap after the man died and he is renting it out.
