Re: Floods
HI All.
Been watching the floods at home on TV and can see what you are all on about, dredging, but as there are only tool heads in charge I can't see that happening, as we all know the easiest way to fix something is beyond most of the people who get elected to parliament. One thing you were lucky that there wasn't a heavy loss of life.
We have our own problems that even the Politicians can't fix and that is fire. 140 houses lost on the south coast of Victoria, but no lives lost thanks to the early warning now in force for people to evacuate before it's to late. Not a happy Xmas for all those folk down there, and I am of the same opinion as the rest of you as to sending overseas aid, we have never had any.
Cheers Des

Re: Floods
It is now transpiring that under an EU rule passed in 2000, we are not permitted to dredge the rivers. Spoils from the dredging are considered as contaminated waste and therefore cannot be used to build up the river banks.
