Re: Freedom of expression
#40, Sounds like you are well rid John, after all if you don't have "freedom of speech" what on earth is the point. When post's are personal that's when debate is destructive.

Re: Freedom of expression
Recently and for no apparent reason I was on the receiving end of a sudden burst of verbal abuse written by a member on this site. What he wrote was both untrue and uncalled for. I was also surprised when a few members thanked and liked his post. I know everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion, but remember the Censor's sword pierces deeply into the heart of Free Expression.
I am now over 80 years old and this was the first time I had experienced disrespect.
FOURO.

Re: Freedom of expression
I had the same Fouro, from a senile old person who I once sailed with. Thankfully he has gone.
Take no notice of it. Ignore them, they do not like to be ignored.
Cheers

Re: Freedom of expression
Just to let anyone interested know, Doc and I have buried the hatchet by private correspondence. I have 'walked away' and then walked back again. I suppose I could have saved shoe leather by just shutting up in the first place, but that's just not my way.

Re: Freedom of expression
Men of good faith may at times disagree, but if at the end they are still in friendship then no harm is done. Friends are the leaves on the tree of life, but sadly with time they wither and die. Enjoy the friendship whilst you may.
