Full circle
We all start our lives helpless, totally reliant on others for all our basic needs. Many will end their lives in exactly the same position.
Sites like this are extremely important to keep the brain active. Read a lot, think a lot, laugh a lot, argue a lot.
Agree, disagree, get angry, rant and rave, it all helps to keep us healthy.
When I went to visit my mother in a care home one elderly lady thought she was living in a manor house and all the carers were her personal servants, the staff were excellent and addressed her as My Lady or Ma'am. The home was bright and cheerful with flowers and large windows. In the hallway there were wheel chairs and bonnets on hooks so family members could take their loved ones out for a walk. This was in Perth W.A.
Many care homes are just run for profit so it is our duty to keep fit and active and stay out of them.

Re: Full circle
Our Bill says it all:
...And one man plays many parts, his acts being seven ages...At first the infant, Mewling and puking in the nurses' arms. Then the whining school-boy, with his satchel And shining morning face, creeping like a snail Unwillingly to school: and then the lovers, Sighing like a furnace, with a woeful ballad made to his mistress' eyebrows: Then a soldier, full of strange oaths and bearded like a pard, jealous in his honor, sudden quick to quarrel, seeking the bubble of reputation
Even in the cannons' mouth; and then the Justice, in fair round belly with capon lined, With eyes severe and beard of formal cut, full of wise sans and modern instances,
And so he plays his part...The sixth act shifts into lean and slippered pantaloons
With spectacles on his nose and pouch on side, his youthful hose, well saved a world to wide For his shrunk shank, And his big manly voice, turning again towards childish treble, pipes and whistles in his sound....Last scene of all, that ends this strange eventful history, is second childishness, and mere oblivion,
Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything.
William Shakespeare, "As You Like It". Act. ll scene Vll
Spelling, punctuation, grammar, and wisdom, compliments of our Bill

Re: Full circle
Louis the last time I was in one was to visit a colleague, the rents were above my head, didn't see many of them about to die laughing. Don't think I will ever reach that stage hopefully. Anyhow there is the Indian Ocean 400 metres away with the old knobby swimming around, why put all that fat and body tissue to waste, sharks have to live also as the greenies tell us. Could die laughing then knowing you were doing the undertaker out of stealing your inheritance designed for elsewhere. JS

Re: Full circle
One way of remaining fit and active in mind and body which I recommend.
I have ordered a Russian au pair from the catalogue on a sale or return policy. At 36 she is getting on a bit but if I take it easy she should be able to keep up.

Louis if you reverse the 36, she'll still be young for most of us!

Re: Full circle
Look some of you guys must be missing out. Article in the Sunday paper says that in UK a survey has shown that as many as 30% of the over 70's are still very sexually active, sometimes twice a month. Why do hey ctonduct these surveys?

Happy daze John in Oz.
