Re: New years honours
Further to the Honours System. The Orders are The Order of the Garter, The Order of the Thistle, The Order of The Bath, The Order of St. Michael and St George, The Royal Victorian Order, The Order of The British Empire, The Order of Merit, The order of the Companions of Honour, The Distinguished Service Order, Imperial Service Order, The Royal Victorian Cross, The Victoria Cross, The George Cross, The George Medal, Royal Red Cross, Distinguished Service Cross, The Military Cross, Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Force Cross, Military Medal, Queens Gallantry Medal, Polar Medal, .........I would imagine if and when the UK ever takes up full residence with the E.U. all this history of the past will be systematically whittled away, and in their place may even get the Iron Cross and such likes appearing once again. One should be very careful of what one wishes for as once gone will never come back. The UK is also a sovereignity whatever ones feelings on that issue should think well what the alternatives are. Cheers 2 days into the new year only 363 more to go may they be good British ones for a change and a popular and competent government make the right decisions. Especially after so many bad ones in the past couple of decades. Cheers to all John S

Re: New years honours
Cappy thought the Order of the Garter may have been very suitable for your circumstances, especially Mary having only the one leg. I know you prefer to call them suspenders but will have to try and remember the proper description when receiving, don't think the government have any control over this one so may be alright re. the police record, I and others will keep shmuck given the right backhanders. As John Pruden is also heading for the Lords he has said he is going to drop you in and blame any Bar excesses on you so will have to watch your back or go back to back with Mary to keep an eye open. Hope you managed to open the Corn Flakes packet on New Years morning for the Grand kids, and didn't take your usual swig out of the milk jug in their view, as they will tell Pat and you will have copped it again. All the best Cheers John S.

Re: New years honours
I had a dry one this year.
Just one glass of white wine with Christmas Dinner and one on Boxing day and one glass on New years day.
Boring.
Cheers
Brian.
