A few years ago i had a 1971 ford falcon sedan and it was a very good car but as the famliy grow up i decided that a smaller a car would just suit the wife and i .
To my better feelings i bought a new toyota corola but i must admit it was a very good car i had it for over 12years and when i retired i got a trading for another toyota corola and i am very pleased with it .
Maybe the next car will be a funeral Hearse

Dare say all our last means of travel will be that Lou! Eeeek!
Not for a long time yet I hope for all our sakes!

I have had a Ford XL and XF both very good cars and very comfortable, also owned a Fairlaine which was just devine!

But like Lou eventually downgraded to smaller vehicle and as I have posted previously Bought a new VW in 2003 (out the box as they say) still going very well, now 10 Years on with 74000 km on the clock!
    Cheers

In that case Lou keep up the maintenance on both yourself and the corolla for maximum safe mileage.

Here is the unregistered new Ford -(Fairlane?) I delivered from Detroit to Los Angeles in October 1955 for the cost of my petrol at ten cents a gallon I think it was then. This photo was taken on the Arizona leg of Route 66 which I took, diverting to Grand Canyon, Boulder and Las Vegas at the end. I took lots of photos and hope that when we get this house sold hopefully in Spring and move into a less high maintenance hacienda I will get time to continue writing the rest of my 'Journey Through Life' which will include this. Cor!! Driving along with the top down. Stopping at the eateries - "Poached eggs on toast please" "Haaaaarry - Adam 'n Eve ona raaaft." or "setta friiiied ovah easy".

We'll have to keep working on it Ivan, what d'ya reckon? Swap updates to see who's lagging behind. Second thoughts, that might not be a bad idea.
