Generally Cider ? Remember years ago out of the blue my younger sister asking for a glass of the Somerset Scrumpie, she had hurt herself in the garden on a thorn bush and remembered her mate saying when she got a pr$ck in her hand she like to put in Cider.

My first Drink was a bottle of Plonk cheap one at that,my late friend and myself bought our first Bottle at the age of sixteen ,the Bottle Shop owner never even asked our age!
I recall how intoxicated we both got and the terrible headache that we awoke with after sleeping it off in a local park!

Re: Who Remembers......
Fifteen years and eleven and a half months on my first trip at at the Doghouse Bar in Colon, Panama. I was lucky to have my five Geordie cabin mates looking after me. Butted my first cigarette in the wrong place and nearly got thumped. Best lesson I ever learnt. Steered a moderately straight course through my teenage up years and never seriously took to fags.

Re: Who Remembers......
16 years old and a vague memory of drinking brown ale. A very distinct memory of dizziness, nausea and head over the loo bringing it all back up. My first drink and first hangover! Sadly one of many. Cheers?

Re: Who Remembers......
Apart from occasional sips of champagne to celebrate Christmas & New Year, my first official drink was one sweet sherry aged 14 at family wedding with my mother's approval
Second foray without permission aged 17 with cousin in a pub in Glasgow two neat whiskys. Feeling mighty fine returned to cousin's home and had another two
Spent the night with Ralph & Huey, dreadful hangover and my mother making me work it off next day by doing housework. Never been able to even sniff it since

Re: Who Remembers......
My first taste of the demon drink occured when I was dispatched to the local pub in Liverpool ( The Crown in Norris Green) to purchase a quart of bitter for my mother on a Saturday afternoon. I was 12 years old and and never had a problem getting served,it wasn't the done thing in those days for women to be seen leaving licensed premises, so the job fell to me. The beer was decanted into our own glass bottles from a barrel, and i would sometimes complain that there was too much head and not enough beer being measured, therefore getting a bit extra. I had my first taste of Bents Bitter and was not impressed, flat and warm and probably watered down as the procedure of filling the containers was always under the counter. However, i persevered and here I am over 60 years on and still sampling the demon.

Re: Who Remembers......
15 years old and got invited to a party by the school girl I had the hots for. Thought I was in with a chance so impress her brought along a 5? pint barrel of Watneys Red Label, drank half of it, ending up calling for Hughie all over he parents carpet, thrown out of party and had to walk 5 miles home in the freezing cold.
Did'nt put me off girls but never drank Watneys again.
