Re: Weather
The weather here has been a little inclement one must say. Cold winds coming from the South Pole via Tasmania which gives good reason why those who live there are a little shorter than oon the mianland. I had to get out a pair of half length shorts it was so cold but the hat remained in position. As one weather man said it is not unusual to get cold weather this time of year, heatwaves only occur during summer. But funily enough we have not had a frost in Melbourne this year and had the warmest may and June for over 70 years. Some rose bushes still have roses on them in what is almost the middle of winter. the last three days it has been around 13 but a heatwave for Thursday with 17 forecast.

Re: Weather
Thats a thing John, if you had to live through a winter in the UK now, how you would cope. Believe even Mary, Cappys bit of stuff sometimes suffers from frostbite in her wooden leg. She must be cheaper than most women though 1 pair of nylons would last her twice as long as other females. JS

Re: Weather
Cappy suddenly realized most women now wear pantyhose. Do you just put a overhand knot in one leg and let it hang down, or do you make a seamanlike job of it and put a sheepshank in it. Dont know whether you can switch pantyhose around when the one leg in use gets worn, know you are an expert in these things, so let us know in case I ever come across a one legged beauty. Cheers and watch the skin cancer with all that hot British Sun, believe its still cold in Scotland. Cheers John S.

John, winter in UK, perish the thought. Was there last year during the 'summer' and thought it was cold then, have been out of it for so long have forgotten how bad it gets.
Somehow I cannot see Mary even bothering to cover the wooden leg and if she did it would most likely just be an old bit of tarp.

When I went to see my Daughter in 2003 I stayed over there and Wales for 8Weeks,this was over Xmas and New Year! Boy it was cold but I really enjoyed each day of Snow,Ice and Wind!
Used to get up at 6am and go for my walk, slipping all over the place on the Ice LOL!
My Daughter said I was crazy to go out in Weather like that and at that hour!
Same said by my Friend in Powys!
Reminded me of the good days lived in the UK,all over! Southampton,Birmingham,London,Ilfracombe and a few more!
Oh those were Happy Days!

There is something you cab do on such days, find a pub with a log fire and sit there sucking on pints for the day.
