    Default Nothing lasts

Two weeks ago having my morning shave my electric shaver died mid shave leaving me half cut.

Last week my 32 year old microwave oven took serously ill. It still cooks but makes a sound like a ship hitting the rocks. The gearing on the turntable is worn and makes a hell of a din. It has been replaced, as has the razor, and consigned to the outside BBQ area where it may be used during the warmer months and the neighbors can put up with the noise.
Then yesterday the 10 year old battery on my Diesel Land Rover died, not a slow lingering death as with some batteries, this was more like a heart attack, instant.

While attempting with my brother to jump start it her indoors was rooting around in my wardrobe looking for items to put in her charity box. She found the Mohair suit I had worn at her wedding almost 46 years ago. It was in a suit bag and tucked away at the back. I am now convinced that keeping clothing in such a place is not good for it, the lack of sunlight obviously has such an effect that the material shrinks. I am not sure what they make waistbands out of but it should be declared illegal. Attempting to do up the zip could seriously damage your health along with other parts.

That is the problem of today, nothing is made to last.

    Hi John
You sure it was the trouser material that shrunk ?
or to be polite could it be, "Old age spread"

I have a problem with my suits as well, I have one I had taylor made so it should still fit, It was made in 1968 so it does last. But alas, it has shrunk, my other suit I bought again made to measure so that should still fit, but again no, I bought it in 1984 when the wife ran off, So what is up with these wardrobes, is it the moisture in the wood, are there chemicals in the wood that make clothes shrink??
or is it the darkness inside. I had to buy a suit last year as I had so many funerals to attend and looked a bit of a clown in my other made to measure suits. Now that one still fits, but again it has not been inside a wardrobe as long as the others..
My shirts are the same, the neck sizes are shrinking, My boxers are getting a little tight now, I am sure I am not getting any bigger in that department.
So why , with all the Technology in the world today can they Not make clothes that do not shrink.
    Cheers
    Brian.

Well now, all this is very strange as I seem to be going the other way, all my trousers hang on me so I look like some American Rapper showing my underwear, polo shirts flap around like a loose sail, suits hang on me like a scarecrow and wifey keeps telling me I am acting like a school kid.
Is it the air up here or what, I just don't know.
