Re: New MH370 THEORY.
The plane was a Boeing 777-200 ER
carried 400 people max and the cargo capacity was Total volume 5,330 cu ft (151 cu m) includes up to six pallets, 14 LD-3 containers, plus 600 cu ft (17 cu m) bulk cargo.
Maximum Takeoff Weight 656,000 lbs (297,200 kg)
Winter Weights
Average adult passenger weight: 195 lb
Average adult male passenger weight: 205 lb
Average adult female passenger weight: 184 lb
45,220 U.S. gal (171,170 L) fuel
Operating Empty weight is 304,500 lb (138,100 kg)
It was carrying 239 people
so would have been able to carry 335785 lbs of cargo with full tanks or 167,892 KG
So if it fitted into the containers , pallets and bulk spaces above they would have carried up to 160 Tonnes of cargo . The weight distribution amongst the holds would be critical to get the balance though

Re: New MH370 THEORY.
When ever such events occur conspiracy theories come out of the woodwork, and in most cases it is just that. There is every possibilty this was just an accident, or some wierd suicide pact by the pilots. The reality is thta unless some concrete eveidence is found at the crash site, if thta can be found, then the truth may never be known. I am keeping an open mind on this and listening to the current news it would appear that along with the audio sounds there is evidence of about a 100 or so pieces of something floating on the ocean, but until they are pulled in we will not know.

Re: New MH370 THEORY.
This was one of the first fly by wire planes , despite having a conventional yoke rather than the smaller more modern devices , so the signal from the cockpit travels along electric cables to the control surfaces , As far as I can tell these go along a single loom . If that loom caught fire or something burned it away , I would have thought that there would be a gradual loss of functions , then the loss of power to the cockpit .

Re: New MH370 THEORY.
The technology has been there since the late 70"s. Anything with a pinger on can be found with the right equipment. Mentioned on a previous post about losing a stingray torpedo, knew exactly where it was, the hard part is the recovery. Depending on the bottom conditions will be the deciding factor. Cappy says his bottom condition is satisfactory. Cheers John S

Re: New MH370 THEORY.
JP, just been on sky news the Aussies had contact with a device on the 37.5khz. frequency for more than 2 hours until it stopped. They then returned and picked up a signal again for 13 minutes. I hope it is the data recorder.
