Re: Apologies!
You are safe Marian as he boarded the train , he heard the tap tap of one legged one eyed Mary's wooden leg and she dragged him in the pub , but you have just thrown temptation in his way , NO body ever kisses one legged one eyed Mary , she never takes the pipe out of her mouth

Re: Apologies!
#55, She sounds like the woman in this verse which my aunt used to sing to me
'Her glass eye, her false teeth she laid on the chair,
When she took her wig off, baby, she was'nt there.
She then unscrewed her arm and wooden leg,
And what was left of her hopped into bed,
And when I awoke, I found it was no joke,
I was married to a broken doll'............No mention of the scent of fish which I believe Cappy has a penchant for

Re: Apologies!
Sorry, if I return to the fold with a negative comment, but with regard to the 'dislike' button I must agree with the 'nay-sayers'. By giving members the opportunity to express their anonymous disapproval in this way, it allows those amongst us with a vexatious or vindictive disposition ( and yes folks! I'm afraid they do exist) to besmirch the reputation of others without being called to account.
Personally, I think it has the potential to create, on site, an unfriendly atmosphere that some (particularly newer members) may find forbidding and thereby discourage them from posting. Brian (Kong) has suggested the button name be changed to 'disagree' which would, I think, be much less confrontational.
I have no wish to appear unappreciative of all the good work Damien has performed for us on this site and realise that many will disagree with me, but, frankly, I find the 'school report' concept displayed in the top right-hand corner of every post a bit overdone. I do hope this doesn't mean that, in due course, my dear old Mum (she's nearly 94) will receive a report from Doc (Vernon) advising her that - 'Roger has been lazy and disruptive in class this term and must try harder in future'. If she does it wouldn't be for the first time.
............Roger
P.S. Have just noticed the offending 'dislike' button has been removed which rather makes this post of mine redundant. My apologies to all for any inconvenience.
