John in reply to your post #10

We stood in line and waited our turn and it seemed that everyone there got a handful of cash and went their merry way.

Think that would be Medicare office that you went into and those people would be claiming a refund of some of the money that had already been paid for medical services. One of our stupid bloody systems here where you have to fork out money you can not afford to get medical treatment only to have to get a partial refund later on. Mind you there are places here that will see you and bulk bill straight to medicare.

As for the debate on homosexuals well my parting shot is this? Over the years I have found that the biggest bigots towards homo's have been those that are not to sure as to their own leanings towards this. I wonder how many have tried it while having sex with someone of the opposite sex LOL.
That's the way the mop flops.

My thanks to Brian for this site.

Presume the above was in jest, if not then it must rank as one of the most bluddy stupid statements made, the bigots, as you call them are the ones most sure of their sexuality, as Brian pointed out earlier what the hell would attract a man to a big hairy ar se, and as for being a recipient from the hairy ar se I can assure you that the doctor's finger up my jacksie was enough to make my eyes water, never mind anything else. The lee of bum island has always been my safe anchorage.

10... Just noticed your post John. Ref. to things changing, yes they have, you would not get a handful of cash now, it would go into your bank account after being processed. Dont ask me what happens if you dont have a bank account have never had that problem. On the same basis my wife was over in the uk by herself a few years ago and had a bit of a cold so went to see a gp. He charged her a 100 pounds for the service. If I had been there he would of got a 100 pence stuck up his rear end. This again goes back to uk pensioners living out here they do not in most cases come under medicare. Cheers John S.

I agree with Ivan Post 7 I do not like the idea of gay marriages it ruins family life and think that's a big thing is bringing up a family .Most of us MN guys know all about gays but if they want it that way ok but don't try and drum it into us it is natural

Well for Ivan's comment will expand on my post okay. Plenty of us sailed on ships that also had queers on board and in a lot of cases we all mixed together with no problems mainly because we where quiet confident within with our own sexual feeling that neither felt threatened or compelled to practice being homosexual. Because of this harmony was kept and in fact many parties where had with both hetro and homo's and what bloody good party's they where. Over the years I have found that it is some people that are not to sure if they have a tendency towards becoming a shirt tail lifter or not that seem to make the most noise against queers. This in my book makes them bigots towards queers as they want everyone else to discriminate against queers to make them feel safe. So more to the point if the system we adopted at sea was allowed ashore then like at sea this issue would be a non issue. Anyone recall attending a wedding at sea (I know it was not legal) between a couple of queens and the following party that used to be held. Would declare friendship with lots of them over a lot of other degenerate idiots taking in oxygen. Just as a rider to this I also agree with Brian and could not possible handle a hairy anus individual one bit but would be quiet happy to share a beer and a joke with him. Hope this clears up what I was trying to write in a few short words. As for some of practicing it? Well think of 69 or going in the back door as some put it LOL.

Les thank you for your clarification, although having sailed with gays at sea, I never attended a wedding. Not approving of a gays and/or gay marriage does not make us bigots, it just goes against the grain of what we were taught by our parents in the era we were brought up in. Although I have gay friends, I still find it an unnatural practice and alien to my way of thinking. However if that is their chosen way of life then they are entitled to it and hope it brings them happiness. What I do object to is their unseemly behaviour in public places which activities are carried out with the apparent sole intention of trying to get someone to complain about their behaviour so that they can play the discrimination card and cause distress to others and I object also having 'their rights' pushed down my throat at every turn by numerous TV channels and newspapers. Whoever created our existence I feel sure it wasn't their intention that male to male or female to female coupling was the intention, because then procreation would not have occurred and this site would never have been born, as neither would we. I raise my hat to normal relations (and not only my hat). Cheers

Ivan, you know the saying of a certain crede amonst the nations of the world I am sure. " Women are for procreation and small boys for pleasure". Some of the legislators want to be extremely careful when they change laws to suit alien cultures. What has happened and is still being faught in this country happenings of 40 and 50 years ago in some cases, would not appear untoward in other cultures. Cheers John S.

How many times Cappy out East have you had the pimps following you with the cry " You want my sister or small boy Johnny". Do the tourists still get this. I dont know of any seaman following this one up. maybe they did, who knows. You have recently had pop stars etc. picked up for such, and yet it is or was rife during our time in the middle east and the orient. Are people just becoming aware of this. Makes you wonder at times how far advanced in the ways of the world we were compared with shore people. Reminds me of a post way back about the so called expertise of the Foreign Office. probably never been round the bazaars and other quarters, and these are the people giving advice, should get out of their Embassies and make themselves aware of how their Host nations live. Cheers John S.
