I'm comfortable with the thongs, shorts and the T shirt, but a bit worried about the dressing up bit- shades of Mr Benn.

The term thongs was here long before the meaning of them was changed. We where thongs and women wear G strings was the norm. Why I say dressing up is that many places here do not allow thongs and T shirts on their premises so I use the system that anywhere that I am not allowed is to bloody expensive for me. So don the thongs and T for the places that do hence dressing up to go out. Mind you I ditch this attire once winter sets in and it is on with a pair of trainers and dungarees and on very cold days will put socks on as well.
That's the way the mop flops.

My thanks to Brian for this site.

    Mid summer, w
edding in a garden thongs and a T shirt are quite acceptable it does get a bit hot here at times and overdressing can be a problem.

And Marian just think how stupid it would have sounded if 'Thongs' you speak of had been called flip flops befoer we called them Thongs here?
