Firstly a message for John S.John if your brother is paying the rent he does'nt have to move anywhere. The only people who are affected by the bedroom tax are those people who are having their rent paid by the DHSS.They will have £14pw deducted from the rent being paid by the DHSS which they will have to make up out of their benefit money, I may add it's not working but thats another story.
Brian took exception to the fact that I said "get into the real world".This is the real world a guy was on Radio Merseyside today (It's strange John S mentioned security guards )This lad worked all over the Christmas Holiday and New Year for this security company,January the boss said I'm sorry I cant pay you I am waiting tobe paid from the contractors that we do the work for.The lad said well I'm not going to work for you anymore if I'm not going to be paid.Thats bad enough not being paid but when he went to the Joke Centre (Job Centre) and told them he had packed his job in he was sanctioned (money stopped) for six months. So if is not in receipt of any money from anywhere for six months where does he go?????So when you see somebody in the food bank queue it could be a lad like this.Thats the real world and this is happening every day.My grandson was told to go and work in a WMCA charity shop, (for nothing)that week he had two interviews to attend which he got himself,he attended the interviews, reported to the Joke Centre and was sanctioned for four months. What was more important to him going for interview to get a job (which they cant get you) or working for nothing for a month in a charity shop.I am in touch with life every day.
    Regards.

We had a couple of incidents where guys wanted to leave the dair , due to personal reasons , and pleaded tp get laid off , due to the DWP taking six weeks to reprocess them , they were valid reasons , so we did our best ., The trouble with this whole debate iis it is not one coat fits all , I have a large estate near me with tej workshy junkies , I have seen guys plead for a job ,and people are so different . Regardless of race , religion , or origins . One took the job , did not work overtime , found out he was reducing his maintenance payments , once done he left . others would kiss your rear for overtime , in an effort to feed their families .

About the UK pension that is received here in Oz just thought I would clarify it a bit more for some of us. When applying for the Oz pension they check to see if you are entitled to any UK pension even if it is for one pound a week. Unlike UK pensions we here have what is called a an assets and income test and the one that pays the least is the one you go on. Having said that. If you are on the income test then for every dollar you get from the UK pension you loose fifty cents Oz pension if you are under the income test. So in reality not only are our UK pensions frozen from the day we apply but we also loose fifty percent of it as well. Mind you if I was to move to the Philippines I would not only get the UK pension but all the increases as well. Mind you after having my whinge about it must admit that one is able to live quiet comfortably on the Oz pension unlike the UK pension. We also as pensioners are allowed about $28000 each tax free. Mind you we do still pay the GST (VAT).

Regarding the unemployed well sure we all can relate to getting of our backsides and going out to search for any position available to put bread on the table but today there just is not the positions available that where there years ago and so many con merchants out there ripping you of if they see that you are desperate. The problem is that to look after those in real need there are just as many if not more ripping of the system and to try and police it only ends up stopping those in need from getting assistance as the rip of merchants know all the lurks to bypass the new rules.
That's the way the mop flops.

My thanks to Brian for this site.

Les.. Was also trying to point out that some old people who come out here to live with family are not entitled to oz pension. Their uk pensions are frozen. They have to be supported by family. As as an Australian citizen and having worked for x number of years entitles one to a pension. Those that come out otherwise are never going to fullfill this criteria. Hence their frozen uk pension is their only income. The UK government should hang its head in shame for treating its own citizens as such, whilst at the same time distributing the peoples taxes to those so called immigrants in uk and to their families still living in eastern europe. Cheers JS

Jim there was a prog on TV a couple of years ago here in Oz. It was about the reasonable well off who use the food banks and op shops to buy from. It appears that it is not always the down and out who take advantage of the services but by doing so reduce the amount availablke for those in genuine need.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

One of the Big problems of unemployment in the UK is Immigration. Ever since we joined the eu several million people have come into our country, They take up jobs that Brits could do and also do it cheaper, The British minimum wage is four times higher than the Polish minimum wage so the Poles are on a winner at the British workers expense.
On top of Immigration, many companies have closed down and gone overseas to manufacture because it is cheaper. Cadburys Chocolate, made in Britain for 150 years . closed down and shipped it all over to Poland, Dyson, closed down and shipped it all over to the Philipines. and many other household names making hundreds of thousands of workers redundant.
How many here eat Cadburys Chocolate or have a Dyson cleaner etc etc in their homes, are you part of the problem??
Every company that takes their production overseas should be banned from importing back into Britain, Hit them in the wallet.
On top of that check out every item in your home, what is made in China and compare with what is made in UK.
Even a tooth brush by Colgates, China, a packet of Sandpaper, China, I have found in mine.
not counting the TV, Computer , Printer, microwave. etc. etc. the list is endless. That is why there are No Jobs.
Fishing Industry, the eu has banned us from fishing in our own waters. I was in Sainsburys Supermarket yesterday, looking [ only ] at fish. Ross frozen fish, imported from China
Findus, imported from Thailand and Brazil. I watched people just pick them up and not look at where they come from and put them in their trollies.
Next time you go shopping for Anything, look at the labels , see where they come from. Then wonder why we have unemployment. We have to get out of europe and be our own Masters and Not have some foreign Git telling us what we can do or not do.
So what the hell is going on here, Why are the stupid Politicians and Government doing about it. NOTHING.
    Have a nice day
    Brian.

Brian, as you were recently in Australia you may have noticed that people are not yet allowed in here or NZ for work purposes unless they have a work visa. Many according to the TV programs are sent on the next plane back if you can believe what you watch. With the stopping of the mass illegal incoming boat people things are getting more controllable. Which is why I have always said we do not want to follow the UK in their Immigration polocies, dont care whose toes I tread on or feelings I hurt, jobs are for the people who live here, if Tony Abbot wants to let in workers ad lib. I would be the first to back the unions up in protest. We have now a law and policy and this as far as I am concerned has to be followed. Cheers John S
