Not cricket old chap
Dissilusionment of governments grows daily today being no exception.
It occured during the term of the last Labor gov here in Oz, the one duly dumped last September.
A Pakistani cricketer came here claiming asylum and refugee status. He is a good bowler, compared to S. Warne the leg spin bowler.
After due consideration by the immigration department it was decided he did not comply as a refugee or asylum seeker and was ordered back to Pakistan.
At this point the four senior leaders of Cricket Australia lobbied the minister saying he should be alowed to stay. The minister agreed and he remained. The normal time before citizenship can be granted here is three years, but not for this guy, he was fast tracked after one year so he could play Cricket for Australia.
Had that been a normal person he would never have been heard of again. Little wonder the people hold politicians in contempt.

Happy daze John in Oz.
Life is too short to blend in.
