Hotel?
Was just sitting and thinking of the Hotels we all at one time or another visited whilst in Cape Town,
one of that Names that came to mind was the Avalon that was on the corner of Hope and Mill Street CT!
I wonder if any of you Lads ever got to go in there at all!
It wasn't too far from the Mount Nelson and the De Waal, and I met quite a few guys in there from various Ships!
Any takers!
Cheers

Re: Hotel?
The name does not ring a bell but I do recall a good number of hotels and other 'interesting' places. DeWaal, Nelson, Grand, Manchester now long gone but a great place for food. Many of the hotels contained bars and as you know that was the main attraction, well almost the mountain was good as well. So we may have well been in many a hotle bar without realising the name of the hotel.

Happy daze John in Oz.

Re: Hotel?
Yes indeed Stuart
Those were the Main haunts, and remember them so well, the Avalon however wasn't used that much by Seaman, but on occasions there were a few there! It was up near the top end of the Avenue to the right of the Mount Nelson!
Cheers
