What you say is quite true Robpage but irrelevant since the romans invaded Britain in AD56, ie the first century not the second . Also the people who became the Saxons were of Asiatic origin having driven out the native tribes of the Elbe area who built the temples you mention, Bede of course as you know is a very discredited propagandist himself a Saxon. It is a little misleading to quote disjointed facts from a text book without researching the background
However thank you for confirming that the first mention of Saxons in Britain was in 441 , 400 years after the Roman invasion of Britain which was my main point
