    To All
This is very sad news on our late Tony Wilding!

This reply received just now from his Stepson Paul.
I am to say the least devastated,so the Typoon didn't take him it was natures illness!
RIP Tony! We will sorely miss you here on site!
    Sincerely Vernon

    Paul

    hello and good evening Vernon.

Thank you for your e mail and your regard for my dad.
While dad was in the phillipines he became ill towards the end of the summer he had got tuberculosis and pneumonia and had some time in hospital .
he came out of hospital and was getting a bit better and he was looking forward to returning to England at the end of November. the doctors were pleased with his progress and said he just needed to build his strength to fly home.

Three weeks ago their was an earthquake where he was living and understandably he was very frightened and if it had anything to do with it we will never know . Vernon I am very sad to have to let you know that dad had a heart attack and passed away on sunday the 22nd of October. I am so sorry to have to give you this news as I know he was very fond of his time he spent on your site.

I wanted to post on there for you to see but myself I am unaware of what the site is called. so yes please if you can remember him on there in some way that would be very nice and very fitting for my dad tony wilding or Seadog 7039.

    best wishes kind regards Paul

Well as promised here is news on Annie and Child!
Got this message from a good Friend of Tony and Annie.

    Dear Vernon,

I am glad that my message reached you and that Paul Pinder is in touch with you. Thank you very much for your reply.
I was in touch with Annie since the time when Tony was taken ill. She informed me regularly about his progress. Annie nursed him with love and dedication. No one could have done it better. But after his recovery things changed. He wrote to me daily how anxious he was to get back to the UK for a number of reasons. One of them was hunger. He was kept so hungry that he dreamt of fish and chips etc. He went so far as to say once back with me he was sure he would put on 9 kg in one or 2 months time. He planned to return by the end of November...

Tony's plan for Annie was to help her find cheaper accommodation in Cebu and to invite her to the UK for 6 months on a visitors visa. I promised Annie to help her to get a visitors visa as Tony intended. She is welcome to stay with me and I will help her and her child a little here and there in the future.

She is a nice lady and loved Tony.

Also this info on Tony,s Funeral

    Hi Vernon,

I forgot to answer your question re Tony's funeral arrangement.
The undertakers (if that is what you can call them) were St. Peters Funeral Parlour in Cebu. Tony's body was resting in a white and golden coffin for about 6 days until the funeral on the 29 October. I do not remember the name of the cemetery. I will ask Annie and let you know later. I do not think that Tony would have approved for his funeral to turn into such a posh and expensive affair. But that is how the Philippines like to do it.
    With my best wishes,
    Maja

members I think it is up to us to at least try to help annie and the child at this sad time? as doc is an honest and true soul if he would not mind not putting him on the spot in any way we should have a tarpaulin muster to help at this sad time. she is and must be going through a terrible time and would be lost without help so what do you think? any thought only positive ones please he was our shipmate? this is just my view she must have nothing right now?jp

    Hi John
I like the idea and will be in on anything that you may think appropriate!
I will have to first find out about the transfer of Funds etc,as I don't know how we could go about this@
One Idea possibly is to ask Paul his Stepson if he could possibly accept Funds into his UK Bnk Account,or even the good Friend Maja who is also in the UK.
I will first await replies to this suggestion by you,and myself!
Tanks its a good and kindly thought for someone who as you rightly sau has probably not much at all at this time!
    Cheers

A little confused. There is no mention of how Annie and her child are at the present time, after the typhoon, do we know ? Are they in good health ? do they still have a home ? I am not being pedantic just want to make sure that any funds, should we decide to send them, are actually going to go to her and Tony's daughter. Should we not have some proof that she will get what is sent.

Hi Chris, I did not realise that Tony had a daughter in the Phillipines. Can anyone explain? And Yes Chris, know what you mean.

I may be wrong but I do not think she is Tony's daughter. Does it matter?
Annie apparently made Tony very happy these last fourteen months or so.
    Just a thought.
