Yes, Jacyn, one of the Restaurants on the QE2 was called Britannia. I am sure you will have a most enjoyable voyage on the QM2 to the UK. A lifelong friend of my wife was stopping with us recently from Los Angeles and she travelled on the QM2 to Southampton from New York, and as Brian has already said you are due to experience a most memorable voyage.
Brian you mention Commodore Bill Warwick, I was on a fire fighting course with him at Banks Road, Speke Liverpool. The QE2 was fitting out at the time in John Browns on the Clyde and he was due to take her out on the maiden voyage. I later sailed under him and what a gentleman. No matter what rank or rating you held,
as far he was concerned we were all important.
    Bon Voyage Jacyn.
    Regards
    John

I am sure you and your Mum will really enjoy!
One day when I hit the Jackpot (if ever haha) I will also think of taking such a Voyage for Nostalgia sake!

Now when you go aboard, use your charms to get to know the important People there, like the Captain haha! then you can do all kinds of things ,a trip to the Bridge would be fantastic!
    All the best

    Hi Jacyn.
    just my idea...
If you are just doing a transAtlantic trip. it would be a waste of money paying hundreds of dollars extra for a Balcony cabin. In Springtime and even in Summer in the Atlantic Ocean you will not be sitting out there.
I always book inside or an Ocean View cabin, [one with windows,[ the cabins are the same but you are not paying for a balcony you will probably never use.
    save your money.
    Cheers
    Brian.

Thanks, John. My memory is better than I thought! I've never forgotten my voyage on QE2, long ago as it was, so I'm ecstatic to have this chance to sail on QM2. Also rather special because one of my dad's first ships was Queen Mary back in the '50s.

Beautiful pics, Brian, thanks so much. Shirley Bassey on stage, wow! What a treat. As my dear mum is paying for this trip (bless her), she is already trying to get the same cabin she had two years ago, with a balcony! She suffers from claustrophobia so I suppose the balcony is somewhat of a necessity. Can't imagine we'll be spending much time in the cabin anyway but she's the boss on this one. Plus, we're from Canada - no strangers to cold weather, ha ha! I can just see mum now wrapped in a blanket sitting out there and loving it.

    Cheers!
