C.c.t.v.
I was watching a T.V. programme recently on shoplifting and C.C.T.V. coverage.
It stated that the U.K. has more camera's monitoring us than any other country in the world. Surely it would follow therefore that we had less crime rate and be the safest country in the world to live? Do you feel safer?
Mass public surveillance used to be associated with East Germany and dictatorships in general, now we have discovered that all our phone calls, emails and comments such as this could possibly be recorded and stored. Even friendly world leaders are not exempt.
Think carefully if you are considering replying, old salts, big brother may be watching you.

What I cannot understand about this shoplifting programme and another one about pick pockets is why are these people/perpretators not in jail. The TV companies will be giving these misfits a fee for appearing which makes them think they are special and probably more prolific in their activities. The TV company say that it makes people aware of how to protect themselves, no it doesn't, what it does do is show more misfits how to take advantage of us.

Re: C.c.t.v.
The man next door [not H***] is fitting CCTV as we speak, he has been burgled again last week for the fourth time this year. Always in the afternoons.
Sometimes it is a necessary evil.
If I caught a burglar I would not report him to the Police, there is a big field and woods at the back of my house.

Brian, A nice piece of 4x2 dunnage is good for burglars, and they happen to slip while you apprehend them, KT

Re: C.c.t.v.
HI All.
Might have been on here before not sure.
A bloke called the Police to say he had caught a burglar in his house and had him tied up, the police said they wouldn't be able to come for an hour, a few minutes later he rang the police and said don't bother coming I've just shot him, the police arrived within minutes , the burglar was sitting tied up in the lounge the police said, I thought you said you'd shot him your a liar, so are you the bloke said you said you couldn't get here for an hour.
Down here in Cooma there are no cameras in the street, it's only a small town but we have a decent size police force as we have a big old jail in the town center with some of the worst criminals in it.
One piece of advice I can give all of you living in the UK, make sure you comb your hair before you go out YOU maybe on candid camera.
Cheers Des
