on July 12 2010 BBC Carribian reported that

As Caricom leaders meet in Jamaica this week there's been a renewed chorus of criticism of the regional integration bloc.
And while the wailing about Caricom failing to deliver is not new, this year it seems to have taken on an even more ominous tone of defeat and despair.

One leader, St Vincent's Ralph Gonsalves went as far as to bemoan 'a serious lack of leadership' in Caricom.

And the litany of woe and foreboding goes on.

This little group of spongers and hangers on are trying to raise their profile again and regain a failing support , by throwing brickbats at the old colonial states .We have given from the DFID funds £75,000,000 to Bermuda and Barbados in aid over the last four years , Cut the lot right out , until Caricom cease their action

Just been reading on Wiki an article about the war of independence in 1814,
The British released thousand of American slaves,.....quote...............
In addition, at least 3,000 American slaves escaped to the British because of their offer of freedom, the same as they had made in the American Revolution. Many other slaves simply escaped in the chaos of war and achieved their freedom on their own. The British settled some of the newly freed slaves in Nova Scotia. Four hundred freedmen were settled in New Brunswick.[154] The Americans protested that Britain's failure to return the slaves violated the Treaty of Ghent. After arbitration by the Tsar of Russia the British paid $1,204,960 in damages to Washington, which reimbursed the slave owners.
    .
I think those decendents of slaves should reimburse the British Tax payer the inflation value of that money we paid to keep them free. a few Billion no doubt.
