    Default Warm conditions

Hi folks....it's me ! I got left behind somewhere, but I'm back on board.
Talking of hot working I once clocked 155 f in the fiddley of the old Brock's SS Malakand in Djibouti sp? in the Red Sea. We had the handrails wrapped in gunney sack. 140 on the starting platform. We had to expand a couple of tubes in one boiler, shut down but still hot. Hosed down and slid into the combustion chamber on dunnage, five minutes each in turn. Imagine being asked to do that today ! elsbels

Talk about the heat, spare a thought for us guys out here in Oz, summer having to sit on the beach in 40 degrees supping on stubbies can get you into real strife.

    No Charlie,
If my memory serves me right she went down in the River Hoogley after swinging onto her own anchor. She had a sister ship called the Martand.
