SANCTIONS !!! It is a word that we usually associate with our country and other countries placing an embargo on places like Iran and North Korea and stop imports into those countries and starve them out so to speak. If you thought Maggie was bad these Hitler guys that are in now make Maggie look like a pussy cat they are worse than Maggie could ever profess to be.They have now brought in the word SANCTIONS against anybody who is unfortunate to find themselves out of work but seeking gainful employment. Here is an example and I could give you many more.My grandson is desperate for a job and is chasing every interview,he has work experience. He was told to go and work in a YMCA charity shop for a month for work experience for no extra money just the same Jobseekers Allowance it was a good way from home and would've taken some time getting there but that was not the problem. He had managed to get himself 3 interviews for jobs that week so that was more important,he informed the Joke Centre that he would not be going to work in the charity shop.He did not get a job but he has just been informed that he has been SANCTIONED for 4 months so will not receive a penny from anywhere for 4 months. He will keep looking in actual fact he has an interview tomorrow,he wont starve but imagine kids who are going to be kicked out of their homes because they are none contributors to the family budget how will they survive I will leave that to you to imagine.Do yo think that we would leave an asylum seeker without money for 4 months and make them homeless,I don't think so.They are trying to starve people into employment when there isn't any jobs there.

It's all to do with the demonization of the working classes Jim. You close down manufacturing, mines, steel and shipbuilding and put thousands out of work and then you call them welfare scroungers.
My daughter is a victim and I despair because for the first time in my life, I don't know what to do.

Well quite honestly if the Govt prefers to spend Ten million pounds on funerals instead of creating Jobs there isnt much hope convincing anyone about good reasoning in anything. Nothing much has changed since the long March, except everything is clinically done so that we have no real right of recourse..
You just have to look at the Guest list at a very recent function in which 4000 police were neede to know that we are so different and dont even come anywhere near the Social step ladder of life.
I feel very sorry for the many people who are unemployed and the full time jobs are not there and yet they are co-ercerced into impossible situations by the Unemployment centres who i might add are also Foreign Contracts. Glenn

I think I understand the situation, I have a niece retrenched March last year still looking. She was a PA in large insurance company and has applied for doizens of jobs. Gets nothing now from social security. But for a job to exist there must first be a demand for the service or product associated withg that job, no demand no job. Not easy to create demand when the country is so down as it is now.

bad times are back?
Hi shipmates, What the government con/libdems are doing is copying america, in the long term = no job = homeless and hungry for non skilled workers, on min wage this is normal in the U.S.A. = food banks for the jobless and no benifits for disable people. The days of social care in the U.K. are finishing very soon its the time of the private pension, and health insurance/unemployed insurance companys to make up the shortfall???? if your young and in a job, over min wage, you must pay for your future, no free hand outs for anyone!!!!!Natonal debt is set to double in five years, the real inflation rate is 33% not 2% any government can fool the people with bogus figures. we are on the knife edge like most of the E.U.

Lets have a bit of truth here were the blame lies,
I have every sympathy with any one who is searching for work, I have had the same with my own family. including myself in the past.
My eldest lad went to University and got two degrees, he couldnt get a job for 12 months, He went back to University to get another degree, he came home and couldnt get a job he ended up in Daves Aquarium in Bolton sweeping up and cleaning, with three degrees and six A-levels and ten O- levels. I paid another £3,000 for a 3 year course in Computers at the local Technical College, and then he got a job at the age of 28 with Cable and Wireless, He is now in a job that I cannot say, it is Classified. but top job.
My step son, couldnt get a job after redundancy for nearly two years, Electrician, I paid him to go to Fleetwood Nautical College Off Shore Survival courses for two weeks, Over £600, he is now making big money , he goes out to Oil Rigs around the world
, commissioning them, in Qatar , Saudi, Bonny Island, Nigeria , Holland and the North Sea, for different oil Companies, Self employed making Big Bucks.
.
. Now Lack of Industry started with Harold Wilson, I know everyone blames Maggie Thatcher but lets have the full TRUTH,
Labour`s Wilson signed us up to the Lima Agreement where we had to give up our industries and send them to third world countries,
He closed 80% of the coal mines, and imported coal from the impoverished States of Eastern Europe, like Poland , He closed down the Textile Industry, 20,000 jobs in Bolton alone ,Hundreds of thousands of jobs in Lancashire and Yorkshire, , all the machinery dismantled and shipped to India , Philipines Taiwan and China, now we import from there,
Look at your own Home, what is in there that is made in the Third world, TV, Computer, microwave, toaster, Towels, clothing in your wardrobe, shoes, trainers etc etc all made in China, etc, You bought it, you helped to put Brits out of work.
In the 60s the country was being ruined by the Communists, Trotskyist and Stalinists Union Bosses. Jack Dash of the London Dockers, Red Robbo of the Car Industry, Scargill of the mining Unions and other Union Bosses, Eric Heffer one time Communist, front Bench member of the Wilson Govenment has written about it, these Commies were dedicated to the destruction of Britain.
People in the Job Centres or the Dole office as it was, are also your enemy if you are looking for work.
When I was redundant from ESSO I signed on on a Monday, they told me my signing on day was Wednesday, I was in Liverpool everyday signing on in the Pool, They Stopped my unemployment Benefit, I proved I had signed on in Liverpool, they said you should be in Bolton, I said There are no ships in Bolton I have to go to Liverpool, They said You have to do as we say, Your Benefit is stopped. I wrote to Maggie Thatcher as she is the Head of the Civil Service, a week later my benefit was restored, They complained that I had nearly cost them their jobs. Should have done, they are there to help the jobless not persecute them.
Any one who is Sanctioned should go to the Very Top. Write to the PM .do not take crap from the employees of the Job Centres.
I have no liking for any Political Party, they are all bums, Liars and cheats, the only good poli is a dead one. BUT I DO LIKE THE TRUTH TO BE SPOKEN.
Cheers
Brian.

Brian/my thread was to draw attention to the plight of the young people (And older) of today.Ian Duncan Smith said he could live on £7 a day but Could he live on nothing like a person who is sanctioned.10,000 people get sanctioned that's 10.000 less on the unemployment register which looks like a good drop in unemployment.I heard a social worker on the radio the other day she said a young man living on his own in a flat was sanctioned for 3 months,no money from anywhere, the food bank could keep him supplied with food mostly tinned stuff and pasta etc, problem was he had no money to feed his gas and electric meters so couldn't cook any thing.I cannot believe that anybody could not have sympathy for todays unemployed youth who are desperate for work and cant find a job.
Regards.
