Mariners Galaxy
Tony, I have just placed my views in another section, I would guess that Mr Sharma is trying to become a shipping guru without really knowing anything about his subject and does not realise how silly he comes across to those who have served at sea.

Just wondering if he will take my last post the way it was meant or does he think we are serious 100% of the time
The questions he asks could if they have all been posted in one thread be taken in a more serious light but spreading out and looking like random brain picking makes me think he is looking for answers so he can say he has done the job and this is how it should be done

Whenever someone says they are an expert in navigation, I ask them what is a Sidereal Day, if they answer correctly, I ask them how many hours minutes and seconds. This is/was basic knowledge. John Sabourn

Sidereal Day
23 hours 56 minutes 27 seconds. Pleased you have looked up Rob. Was going to say to our erstwhile navigator, congratulations on having looked up and learnt. I now know there are at least 2 of us on the earth who now have this useless bit of knowledge and can now die happy knowing someone else can carry around with him to the end of his days. Cheers John Sabourn
