    Hi Richard,
if you go onto the `Government of Pitcairns Island` site it explains all. Pitcairn Islands
The Bounty arrived on Pitcairns in 1790,
Mr Midshipman Edward Young, my friend, Manuraii Young`s ancester, died on the Island in 1800 of Asthma,
The Island was never discovered until 1808 by a US Sealer,
and the Royal Navy arrived for the first time in 1814, The Captain was so impressed by Mr Adams, by then the leader of the tiny community, they did not arrest anyone.
    .
The only ones arrested were on Tahiti when the Pandora arrived and when she was wrecked the ones who were in shackles below were drowned. Some were rescued and went on trial in Portsmouth. Mr Herwood, Midshipman was sentenced to death but was then reprieved.
    .
I read the daily news from Pitcairns quite regularly, on their web site which is on google. very interesting it is.
Ir really is a fascinating story, probably ruined by James Nordof Hall and his mate and Hollywood fantasy.
I am surprised that a lot of seafaring men dont read about it.
I have a book of `Journals` written by Captain Bligh, Mr Haywood, Mr Haywood`s sister and someone else, I just cant lay my hands on it at the moment. it is printed in 1805 with a foreword by an Admiral who took part in the Courts Martial. There is No author, so No ones imagination, Just pure facts from the people involved.
I bought it forty years ago on Fleetwood`s second hand market for 15 pence.

    Cheers Brian.
Below is the Bounty Memorial Rock on Matavai Bay where the Bounty lay at anchor for six months waiting for the Bread Fruit season., there is me, and also Manuraii Young .
I had a faulty camera, the lens was damaged and it makes us look a little wider and shorter than we really are.
So I will be back there in just over three weeks or so,
