Stuart we are not big drinkers we like a couple maybe three if in the mood at end of day so enjoy that with people we know, have a laugh + maybe some serious conversation or not so Paris in 'The Marais' for us is just right as there is all types of people. Sunday we mooched home then said b...er it we will pop down for a red & see who is there. What a great early evening, stayed for an extra one having & a bite, Lyon sausage with pistachio & warm potato salad, delicious & inexpensive. Even though we are not 'full tote odds' yet on the language, yes we do cause some raised eyebrows with pronunciation, the company was great, even a 9 year old who wanted to practise his English. Big rugby discussion had with me saying the Welsh should have been in the WC final not the French.....most agreed. Home by 8.30 all in all very relaxing. Our bistro/bar of preference could only fit maybe 30-40 people tops so it is quite intimate & very friendly even if you are not French. Richard

Keith yes we reckon we do. It was the US, NY or San Fran, Spain or here for the last lap of life. We debated everything for a year with the US due to language always coming out on top then we said no we want to be close to lots of places we enjoy. Italy, Spain, Germany, Holland, UK, Scandinavia + parts of Europe we have not been so France was the choice. It is four months now & do not regret it just miss the blue skies but that will come & are enjoying the cold weather. I know mad but after H.K.-Shanghai summers forget humidity never again!
Tomatoes here are so good just like when we were children, why in Aus Asia with such flowery ones, US too so we did not eat them? Bread & pastries ahhhh! Can not find a true sausage as per UK-Aus which we are on a mission for, particularly a London Pork. Richard
