Going Away for Christmas...NOT !
Nice and crisply freezing here in Worcestershire. Feeling Very Seasonal-well,it IS December ! Wrap up warm,do some Christmas shopping and walk down to the riverside for a noggin or two and some pre-Christmas goodies in the pub.
I wouldn't like to be anywhere else for Christmas. I like abroad for a bit of holiday sunshine, but for me GB is always nice to come home to,especially at Christmas. Remember how we used to hope and pray we'd get home for a Crimble in Blighty? I'm sorry, but I couldn't stand to live abroad now. Most of the time I believe that some ex-pats who now say they prefer it could just be exchanging one set of problems for another. On the other hand there are those that say if they are going to be miserable, then they'd rather be miserable in the sunshine.... !
It's all horses for courses though and you can't generalise. Happiness is a state of mind, irrespective of climate or geography. It's just nice to be alive.
Merry Christmas Everyone - wherever you plan to be !

I saw my neighbour, Hayu, this morning, scraping ice of the windows of his New Mercedes. He came here from Pakistan seven years ago and has never worked, he has a Bad Back,
I said "Hayu, I havent had a Christmas Card off you yet".
Hayu, I never send you bleddy card, why you keep calling Hey You, my name is Faisal."
Me. "When I was working in Pakistan I shout `Hey you` and everyone says, `Yes Sahib`, so I think everyone in Pakistan is called Hayu. "
I tell you my name is Faisal, ",
Me, "OK I call you Hayu Faisal, and why are your windows wide open?"
His bedroom windows wide open, temperature was Minus 10 c.
Hayu, "Too bleddy warm in my house"
Me "Then turn your heating down, you are wasting gas, it will cost a fortune, "
Hayu, "Its no problem, I get assistance with paying my heating bills."
I turned and walked away , before I strangled him.

Well Gulliver i must tell the truth. I would not want to live anywhere else than Oz now, been here too long. But one thing I do miss is the old Christmas in UK, particularly at the times we had the two pubs in Kent. Something about a British Christmas that is so special to UK.

Xmas!??
Although i also now love Aus,i must admit that as far as Xmas goes of the times i lived there in the UK,and also the last Xmas Holiday with my Daughter in 2003,there is still nothing like that lovely Xmas feeling that i got !
At least you can enjoy the lovely hot Xmas Dinners without all the heat and flies all over you (well if having a BBQ here) and the feeling is just sort of different there,it seems like Xmas !! Oh well thats just me!
Other than that i also as a lot of you know just love the cold Weather, and thank goodness now where we moved to,the Weather is just perfect! Not too Hot in the Summer and nice and cool in the Winter!
We do of course have our Mid Xmas in July, where we can also go and enjoy a nice Meal,or have an outside BBQ without the Flies, but ts not really the same! There is a lot of Snow up here too, which does make the feeling a bit better, but then thats where it ends!
Gosh are we never satisfied! LOL!
I may be taking a few days out over the period, just to get out and about, nothing too fancy, just a leisurely drive somewhere!
Take care anyway Lads whatever or wherever you may go,remember its not always you that does the wrong thing! Watch Out there are Lunatics about!!
Cheers
Stay Safe!!
