Re: Letter to Prime Minister
Rob, why would you want to drink imitations when you can drink the real thing.
If you ever see Talisker Malt whisky try it.
I can gaurantee that he first nip taste like nothing on this earth, tastes like iodine, very medicinal.
2nd nip, very smooth tastes nothing like the first nip.
Everyone that I know that have tried Talisker, all talk about the same first drink.
PS nip is a measure

Re: Letter to Prime Minister
My favourite Scotch , I have not seen for a long time was Antiquary , For a Malt I preferred the Islay malts Laphroaig in particular , so as Talisker is similar , I would enjoy too , It all goes to heartburn these days , so I mostly drink rum on the rare occasions I drink spirits , preferring Woods or Pusser , I think Bombay Sapphire Beats all the other Gins , and I think Vodka is a waste of time . In my youth , the Clan Boats carried off the finest of Scotlands brews across Africa , and the old dockers trick of dropping the case on the corner and using the cardboard to strain the glass left ten or so unused bottles in the damaged , unshippable case . We had a Deck Maintenance Officer ( Chippie on a White Crew Ship ) who could skillfully remove the capsule seal , drain the contents and replace the capsule cap back on so the bottle looked untouched . I tried a lot of different Scotch over a thirteen month trip , The worst broaching the Glasgow Dockers did was two of three cases of Chivas Regal 25 year old , currently around £150 a bottle very nice too , the third case got through to the shipper in Mauritius , It was in our bar on the optic for weeks , in a Johnny Walker Red Label Bottle , The Chief Engineer did ask what it was , and wa snot convinced with teh answer , the old man though it was the best Johnny Walker he ever tasted . It is not that I don't like it , it does not like me !!!!
