Stepped aboard a ship for first time aged 8, SS Fort Augustus, was hooked, parents refused permission for me to go to sea, so did many pointless jobs untill i was 21, salesman, bus conductor, taxi driver, weekend work on local fishing boats, pleasure boats, at 21 off i went, no sea school, jumped straight into the engine room. no regrets.
