I think the package will be a copy of my book I sent recorded delivery Keith. It looks like your badges have gone astray. I will post off some more after the weekend.

Suprise Suprise
Been an odd week, that seems to have gone on for ever. As said in e.mail, my father recieved his in Barry last Friday: as I had forwarded both SAE's, Thought after talking on the phone then that sure enough delay was in our post and would expect delivery Saturday.
When Sat came and went, concluded Monday had to be the day. Monday had a very close family problem and meant I would suddenly have to be away from home for an undetermined time. A stroke of very good luck saw a change in circumstance and was home late Wednesday.
Each day my significant fraction (Other half) relayed the non postal arrival. Yesterday went to main postal sorting office. They apparently checked all areas: apoligetically, passing on a negative response. They could not further check all or every mislaid letter etc, lest recorded or similar.
Not wishing to get to irate and condemn them forever as I do seek an MN stamp issue in the not to far off future, retired from pursuing all what seemed pointless further.
Feel that I begin to write the script for a pantomime, will draw to a close. This morning the postie left a card regarding a package to be collected. Thought it may be books but no tick in the box showing it had to be signed for, presumed this was not then recorded delivery as books would be.
The package on pick up had been 10p short of delivery price. Hence a charge to pay was £1.10, although never actually delivered als incurred not only the 10p shortage, but also a £1.00 handling charge. Post mark on front franking the 1st class stamp was illledgible. Reverse carried registered Aylesbury Central 24th June 2010.
Frankly thought all was lost, some faith restored. Pretty long saga for such a kind and straight forward offer. Thanks for all. If I owe any one anything, regret that and assume it is still in the post - Ha Ha.

Restoring Faith
My copy of "They shall not grow old" just arrived, thanks Billy.
Strangely all my bills also manage to be delivered, without failure.
Was a time that if neccessary the GPO would slap a postage due sticker on the mail and actually deliver the offending post and charge the extra pence or two at your door. Completing a duty to deliver and collcting the full fare. Seems now an easy way to earn an extra quid.
Had similar a few years ago, when my company sent mail, urgently sped to the local sorting office and paid for my own Birthday card.
Thats life as we now know it.....................
