Old ship mates
I sailed with Ellerman City Lines from 06/11/1961 to 04/06/1963 & 16/06/1969 to 04/06/1973
Is there anyone still alive who remembers sailing with me?
Thanks Malcolm Bennington (ex 'leccy')

Re: Old ship mates
I do not recall your name Malcom but it is a long time ago.
I joined the cadet ship City of Lucknow in 1962 and left in 1972 after getting my Masters.
After the Lucknow I was on the Hull Dec '63 to March'64
The Melbourne May'64 to March'66
Eastbourne July'66 to Aug'66
Winnipeg Sept'66 to Aug'67
Lichfield Aug'67 to Nov'67
Lancaster March'68 to April'68
Dundee May'68 to Sept'69
York Feb'70 March'70
Gloucester April'70 to Aug'71
Please let me know if we were together on one of these ships at the same time
All the best,
John

Re: Old ship mates
Hi John,
I've just looked at your post and compared it to my time with Ellermans and we were both HT on the Eastbourne from 26/7/66 (Poplar) to 22/8/66 (Glasgow) but this was only my second ship after the Exeter that was in dry dock in Wallsend.
I did a few trips on the York, the first from May 1970, so just after you had left.
Ships that pass in the night, comes to mind!
Hope this finds you well, best regards,
Peter
